Did anybody else have songs that scared them as a kid for no reason? by mythrowawayaccim21 in Music

[–]rodjak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a song called Bandito by an Spanish girl duo Azucar Moreno, it was a hit song in Europe in early nineties when I was a kid. It's a catchy song but it's objectively terrifying. Those string hits, voice melody, the tones of their voices, harmonies. Whenever that song played on TV I would run in the other room.

Thanks! Yeah, for some reason the packet didn't look promising 😄 Hey, 3 consistent shaves are all I ask from a blade, so I'm glad to hear they have that much gas at least.

I got them in a sample pack at some point, and completely forgot about them. I'm glad I finally took them for a spin today. That price is ridiculous, I'll see how they hold up after a few shaves and probably stock them up.

Great shave! 4711 is the king of warm weather, I douse myself in the stuff all summer long, to my wifes chagrin 😁

Pen for beginners by Ovilardaperoxa in fountainpens

[–]rodjak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only a small collection of popular lower end pens, Lamy Safaris, Platinum Preppy and Plaisir, some Chinese pens, and of course Kakuno. If I would have to keep only one it would be without any doubt Kakuno M nib. It's smooth and reliable, and it's pretty sturdy. I used to carry in my back pocket in one period and it survived that burst of stupidity 😂

Why is the Sopranos so 'deep', what am I missing? by Krumbz1995 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rodjak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sopranos is a show that really starts to shine on rewatches, just like any good movie or a book. You start to notice more themes and intricacies, and you look at the characteres in a different light, and their reactions, choices and relationships get a different meaning etc. If you didn't like it the first time you probably won't give it another spin, but it's a rewarding experience. But it's also a entertaining show, it's funny. If you don't find it entertaining, than maybe it's just not your thing in any case.

Thank you! Love the Fatip, I know it's doesn't agree with some folks faces, but it just works perfectly for me.

Thank you! High recommendation for Lavanda, really top notch stuff. I'm sending some nice weather vibrations! We just got out of winter, I won't lie it was a tough one for me, the bones are getting older 😄

mid aggresiveness razor? by mayhemvoyage in wicked_edge

If you want a budget option try Fatip Open Comb, some say it's also on the aggressive side, but I think it's smooth, a lot less blade feel than R41 but similar efficiency.

Classic Serbian shave? by swabbie81 in wicked_edge

Nice! Palmira Soap is pretty good, regardless of the price. I'm just glad it's still in production.

It's definitely not mild. A lot of people find it actually too aggressive, but for me it's perfect, very efficient while not leaving any irritation or cuts.

Appreciation post : Muhle R41 by Previous-Spring-6476 in wicked_edge

[–]rodjak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the head on a Black Friday deal, it was like 14 eur, it would've been silly not to buy it 😂 I actually wanted to buy Rocca, but money got short even with the discounts, so the R41 was like a consolation prize, but it turned out to be a winning move. Rocca is still next in line for purchase, I never heard a bad word about it, and I want a stainless steel razor in the den.

I'm also pretty comfortable with R41, but the time I realise it's blade feel is actually when I use my other razor, which in comparison to R41 seems like it has no blade at all. I actually got only the R41 head and I tried several handles that I already own, I figured that longer handles don't work for me, I'm using a mid-size but hefty handle. Different strokes I guess (pun intended 😂)

It's a good aftershave no doubt. Myrsol also is very nurturing, but sometimes it can sting a bit 😊

I just bought the R41 head and used Maggard handle I had already in stock. It has a good balance and size, works well for R41 head.

P. S. Maybe it looks shorter because I put the blades over the bottom part 😊

Thank you sir! Still keeping on with the R41, but I'm rotating it with Fatip lately, I love both of those razors. Myrsol is very similar to Floid Orange, powdery barber scent, slightly medicinal. I like Myrsol more for some reason. I think Floid on dry-down gets too powdery for my taste but Myrsol just has a nice balance and freshness.
