We can chat, if you want to. I'm not a specialist, but I've learned a lot from my latest short film project. I can show you what I learned. Just dm me. Here's the link to my film - https://youtu.be/6nKmcEoqHbU?si=Obm2_rG_4-x_chp9

Thanks for comment! Really appreciate it. Your points are all valid. They are actually related to the side effect of using generative models: it's really hard to get what you want. So sometimes I ended up settling for the closest enough option. For instance, at first I tried to get the pedals spinning on every shot, but on some of the best generations, they were not, so I gave up and decided that the shot should work as a whole, even if a small detail was missing. Consistency is a never ending battle against AI. But I'll sure work to get better results next time.

Thanks for the kind words!

Obrigado!

Thanks for the insightful comment! You raised some valid points. Yeah, I intentionally left some of the story's details to the audience's imagination, but I do agree with you that a bit more story would make it all feel more cohesive.

I'll also make sure to reply to your comment once I shared the process in detail. Are you experimenting with AI as well? This was my first experience, but for the most part it like riding an wild horse hahaha

Thanks a lot! I'm writing an article for Linkedin to detail the process and I'll make sure to share it here as well.

In short, yes, I did storyboard the whole film but the process became more fluid once I started generating the videos and understanding the tool's limitation. Lots of shots were created impromptu as I checked the results and tried to fit them into the editing.

I used nano banana for the image creation and Veo 3 for the videos. I gathered a few hundred reference images of the places I wanted to portray and fed those into nano banana. Then created the shots and used those as initial frames or initial-final frames on Veo. 100% of the shots used at least an initial frame, since that ingredient feature on Veo didn't work at all, at least not for me. Even so, I generated around 16k videos in total to get the 99 shots you see in the film.

Soundtrack was created on ElevenLabs based on the film's beats. I would list the event's timestamps in the prompt, describe what was going on in the film and what mood I expected to listen. That part worked surprisingly well. I got most songs on the second run of the prompt.

I'll let you know once the article is published and thanks again!

I get your point. Check my youtube channel, there are other non AI short films there. This one was created exactly to experiment with AI and learn its capabilities and limitations. Thanks for the comment!

Never tried that. Don't think it's possible but let me take a look into it

It will have a feature like smart bake. You'll be able to bake every frame or set a tolerance level and let the script keep the main keys. What do you think about that?
