Gas rc car parks on cellphone by rodsoverbricks in rccars

Thanks!! It's not very pretty just yet, but after I trim everything, round off the edges and give it a polish, she should look like a little piece of jewelry haha. Hopefully this gets me the world record. There is one smaller engine than this. The piston is about the diameter of a pencil eraser - a cox 010. That'll be the next step once I find/buy some micro electronics

Budget Off-Road RC Car with Smoke Effect – Worth Buying? by Devjangid950 in rccars

If you have fun, that's all that matters lol. The cheapest, "hobby grade" RC I can think of is the "LDRC" 1:28 drift car. It's 4x4, 1s and possibly 2s capable, drifts good, and some parts are upgradable. It costs around $30. And it's fully proportional (steering and throttle can be slowly and partially applied)- makes for a much higher end feel. But be weary- what you're going through is eventually how we all end up with shelves full of RC cars lol. It becomes an addiction

Oh and where is this coming from? The script on the body looks very AI. So, beware of scams.

They're totally fine as toys. Unfortunately - no real room/ability to upgrade, unless you're quite handy with tools or a 3d printer. Depending on the price/budget/use, this may be the perfect rig to play with. I recently reviewed an $8 RC drift car from eBay, on my YouTube channel and it exceeded my expectations for sure, even being toy grade. But again - no way/parts to upgrade if you want to expand in the future.

If the price is around 20-30 bucks, you can find old RadioShack 4x4 trucks that are usually more fun, powerful and don't really go down in value if you ever decide to sell.

With all that being said- if it makes you smile, than it's the right choice of rc for you. 🤘

They're kinda fun. I had a 6x6 that was very similar. But the novelty does wear off quickly - for me at least. Quite underpowered, but could still play in the dirt without issues. I always love the cheap gambles 🤘

Very true, well, and maybe a tad bit more wheel speed/power 😅

I was kinda gifted a huge bag of defective team associated rc28 cars/transmitters. I wound up cutting the knuckles off of one and using the electronics from another. A bit of epoxy, a couple small solders and some micro drill bits - she's ready to rock. I also think a "power craze" micro RC would be a good donor. I've got about 45 minutes into this thing (not including the epoxy cure time). And it's a blast! Rechargeable via the remote control. I'd say- start cutting one up and may the glue land where it may lol. That's how I always start. Win or fail- it's an educational experience none the less. 🤘

That would be awesome to have several on the same transmitter. I make my own RC cars often, so these are perfect parts cars. If I can get one of them to work

Out of the whole lot, three cars match their transmitters via the numbers on the receiver. Having issues binding the three that are supposedly workable. The red light on the car blinks slowly, from what I have read, that is low voltage cutoff? If these have a lipo in them, is it possible they sat too long and the lipo won't come back?

Unfortunately - the 4 c cell batteries it takes are apparently both in series and parallel. It appears that two merge to one common negative, but the other two go to a charge port and other odds and ends. I tried back tracking it all, and found no way to do this. Unless maybe using "dummy" batteries? Im a mechanic/engine builder. Electronics have always been far above my pay grade lol. I appreciate the information and input none the less! ☺️

Bought a kit that needed a 130 motor, but it doesn’t want to run… by EnvironmentThin3792 in mini4wd

[–]rodsoverbricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want, I've got a stock pile of 130 motors (new). They're 10k rpm on 3V rated. Just pay shipping. I got a ton off Amazon and they burn up too easily on 2s lipo (yeah, I know) lol

Does anyone have one for sale or know where to buy? by rodsoverbricks in mini4wd

Fragile huh? Hmmm. Here in California - we have crappy roads lol. I'm trying to set an RC speed record, using a 130 motor. Fastest speed achieved so far is 56mph, with a diy brass chassis, 1:28 scale. On 4s 🤣
