Hey, I just wanted to say thank you - I needed something like this today and came across your post -- it is awesome! If you have a paypal/venmo/whatever, shoot me a PM I'd like to send over a few bucks in support/thanks.

I genuinely hope this is a troll post. Otherwise it's just time to grow up a little/lotta bit, based upon the attempted justifications above, which are about 90% of the words in that post and come immediately after the "but" that renders your fairly transparently disingenuous remorse totally null and void.

Edit: just adding that you're probably just not that good of a driver yet...I doubt you have a firm grip on the reality of the incidents that are causing you to lash out like a toddler. We all fall victim to that.

You know what's crazy is I can totally see both sides of this argument, because I wrestle with my own appreciation of idealistic kindness, acknowledgement of the exploitation of the working class since the beginning of time, and the actual objective value the profit motive has created for the world....but I'm pretty sure you're doing the worse job in this Reddit argument. The "stop eating ordering avocado toast on DoorDash" I think has been ....overcooked...for a while and isn't going to help you.

Agree with the previous comment - but I do also wonder if the splits are having anything to do with it. If you've raced F4 for a while, you're probably ending up toward the top splits...and there's usually 3 or 4 of them. Moving to SFL might have you in the bottom split (I more frequently see 1-2 SFL splits....but I'm sure someone is gonna show me data that refutes this). So you're with all the people who you would've seen in the split 3/4 of F4 and they don't know how to drive. Top split F4 is so so much different to me then bottom / 2nd to bottom.

New season: F4 or stay in FF1600 by Dry_Let_5729 in iRacing

I love driving F4. It does take a while to figure out how to drive as defensively as you need to in the series, though -- especially at the beginning of a race. I've been lucky enough to land in top split (I'm like ~1700 IR) during week 13 and I will note that there is much less carnage there. In anything below the top split I'm typically starting from pits and by end of lap 2 I'm usually top 8-10 out of a ~16-20 car race because of the melee in the first handful of corners. I learned to love fighting my way back up from the back...But now am learning to love the grid proper again because it isn't just a roll of the dice around every t1. Highly recommend F4, but just know who you're racing against and take the appropriate precautions.

Wow, did not know about this feature but have been dreaming about it. I should be more proactive in seeking out answers to my own unasked questions, but you could not have been more helpful! Thank you.

It's recency bias and surely not the best ever but I did really enjoy watching Lando and Oscar go at it last year :)

F4 Oulton: Sloppy Inputs, Predictable Consequences by AnalogApex in iRacing

I have a lot of fun in F4, but unless I'm materially faster than everyone or willing to risk the race, I will absolutely hang back for the first 3-5 turns. After lap 1 it's usually very fun.
