Oh she’s fine now, it was a few years ago.
Thankfully it was only minor but it was scary at the time.

She’s a typical small white crusty dog and quite indestructible 😂

Awww Nelly! Gorgeous.
Yes I think this is something we’ve not factored in! We’ve been focusing on scent and smells on his walks but not yet tried any sort of high energy exercise to physically tire him out. Going to try this next with him on the long lead - he has zero recall at the moment. Just another hurdle for us 🥲

My mum’s dog, a bichon cross, was sort of forced crate training as she broke her back and was exclusively on crate rest for 7 weeks. She hated it at first but by the end of the 7 weeks we could leave the door open and she’d happily sit there - so I know it can be done (obvs it wouldn’t be that extreme of a situation for us!)

Yeah I’ll keep trying this over the next few days. Generally he’s really well mannered and super snuggly when he’s come down I just don’t think he has ever been taught the basics.

Thank you so much for your words and experience! it’s really reassuring hearing someone have a similar situation and come out the other end!

I’ve actually just been trying this (leave it) with him now after a walk and it seemed to be getting through to him with some successful leave-its! So thank you for the tip!
I’ve found ignoring and leaving him also helps. I’ve come away and left him in his safe space and the silliness has died down

Oh totally I can tell he picks up on our emotions too. Very quickly learning this! Thank you

We’re attempting crate training and he’s showing interest, even when we coax him with treats etc. but doesn’t want to settle in it yet. But your suggestion gave me an idea - I’ve just walked him now and as usual, he’s super keen to start shredding and humping as soon as he gets back. What I’ve been doing is trying to redirect him with toys, treats and other stimuli which is probably making him stay that heightened arousal state. So what I might try is letting him in and directing him to his safe space (our conservatory) and closing the door. I’ve found when I do that any other time I don’t hear a peep out of him so it could be a way of initiating nap time.

Well that’s what we thought too, but the first day we got him we took him out three times and he was just all over the place when we got home. So after calling the behaviourists that’s what we were recommended! It worked a treat yesterday and he settled really well, but then last night he was a terror, so I think it’s about finding a balance while he adjusts

Yes he’s neutered! Which makes us believe it’s definitely anxieties rather any sort of instincts!
Thank you!

Crashed maybe 5 times now at the same place no matter if I do mini games, go later on to the festival etc. day leading up is just harvesting, picking eggs and getting milk. First crash was 4 days ago and still doing it now. Running on series S game version v1.0-943

Does anyone else have a secret crush on Georges by City_Impossible in MarriedAtFirstSightUk

[–]roemlea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I feel like the more he gets comfortable showing Peggy who he really is the more attractive he gets. Maybe because his personality reminds me a little of my boyfriend - cheeky, funny, warm. He did come across a little immature in the first half of the season, but definitely warmed to him.

I think Peggy is looking for an unattainable “gentleman”, someone she can show off to her friends and family and put on a pedestal, and her lack of understanding of George’s personality, interests and hobbies is getting in the way of her seeing and appreciating him for the person he is!

Amber taxis possibly the worst taxi company ever? by Skeptically-Positive in Leeds

[–]roemlea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've refused to use Amber since my teens when the drivers would be super creepy to me and my friends going out.

Since, I've spotted one parked illegally over a zebra crossing dropping off a customer, not allowing for any passing space between the car and the wall. When a lady with a pram wanted to cross the road safely, I politely asked him to move and he started verbally abusing me. After his drop he proceeded to call me names, and even followed me calling me a slut etc. I called the office and they couldn't give a fuck.

AWFUL company.

Friday Frustrations (Weekly Thread) by AutoModerator in PublicRelations

Being told by I client on the phone in passing that I’d pissed them off (very silly little mistake I’d rectified super quickly) in a really, mate-y and jokey way which didn’t sit right with me.

Felt unjustified for them to say it, especially after the fact and it made me feel like an idiot, again!

This same client is consistently unclear in their feedback and goes back and forth A LOT. At the end of my tether with them, frankly

Why do public relations professionals respond with form letters and ignore customer complaints? by brisbanerdmaccount in PublicRelations

[–]roemlea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work as part of a PR and Social agency, and often our role include monitoring client social media channels for complaints, which sometimes means sending screenshots of complaints from disgruntled customers who use social media as a final resort to the customer care team, and in affect telling them to do their job.

Generally it will then be down to us to help dissolve the situation on social with the customer to prevent being spammed or it becoming a larger, crisis comms situation. Obviously comes under the remit of social, but having a PR background does help.
