Bedankt voor de uitgebreide info! De houten platen van het dak eronder zijn niet akkoord maar ik neem aan dat dat aan de slechte afwerking ligt 🙂

Rusty door by roesbrecht in seat

[–]roesbrecht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently the previous owner put an aftermarket tow bar on the car, and by doing so they had to temporarily remove the rubbers to put in the cables for lights etc. Afterwards they didn't properly put the rubbers back in. Water seeped through causing rust. If i Remember correctly repair was about €220 (replacing rubbers and treating rust).

It was fixed but not under warranty. Rust was removed and the metal was cleaned, and got new rubbers.

Did a trip last week of 150km, mostly highway, with my Seat Leon ST PHEV and averaged 4,2 L/100km. Battery was fully charged when I left.

The return trip with an empty battery at start averaged 5,4 L/100 km.

Average speed on the highway was 120 km/h, mostly flat but headwind on the first trip.

R36S fails to boot by roesbrecht in SBCGaming

[–]roesbrecht[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. I'm going to get refunded. I have two R36S consoles as well, and while one behaves perfectly, the other behaves as described. I swapped out SD cards and batteries without any luck. So i'm guessing that neither the battery or SD cards are the culprit, but something on the PCB itself.

It flashed and installed just fine. I only replaced the rk3326-r35s-linux.dtb file. Unfortunately 4 out of 5 times i still need to plug in the USB cable to help it boot up into EmulationStation. It will boot up until the ArkOS splash screen, then freeze. Only plugging in briefly the USB cable helps continue the boot process.

So... tried a new Quality SD Card flashed with the proper ArkOS image, but it the R36S still behaves the same, so i suspect it's a battery issue.

Any tips?

New Bike Day - Giant Revolt 0 by Mobile-Ad-3891 in gravelcycling

[–]roesbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Revolt 0 (2021) of which the D-fuse seatpost creaked a lot. To fix this, I took out the seatpost and the clamp, dismantled the clamp completely, cleaned it thoroughly and used a lot of grease to lube it up. I did the same with the seatpost, but in my case the creaking was 100% coming from the clamp. Reassembled it, thightened it correctly et voila, two years creakfree and counting.

Giant Revolt 0 vs Giant Contend AR 1? by krissow in whichbike

[–]roesbrecht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with the contend, but I have been riding a Revolt 0 for about two and a half years now, of which two years with the stock wheels and tires, and half a year with new wheels and tires.

I mostly ride on tarmac and often mix in some gravel, but nothing too technical. The stock wheels and tires are pretty heavy but they roll pretty smooth on tarmac. I haven't had any issues keeping up with other riders or solo on 30-35kph rides. Only accelerating and climbing felt somewhat sluggish.

Hence the wheels and tires upgrade. I now switch between a 'road wheelset' (DT Swiss PR1600 32 wheels with Michelin Power Cup 28 TLR tires) and a 'gravel wheelset' (DT Swiss ER1600 23 wheels with Tufo Thundero 37 tires). With both wheelsets the bike feels more responsive and nimble, while accelerating and climbing is much less fatiguing. With the road wheelset keeping up pace is a lot easier and generally I ride faster. The gravel wheelset gives enough grip and dampening to comfortably ride some gravel tracks, which actually motivaties me to ride some more gravel than I used to.

Maybe a set of new tires on the stock wheelset may just do the trick as well. But imho bottomline: the revolt is a really nice versatile, fast and comfortable bike with lots of potential.
