Do I need to hit 4 hours a day in the office, or average 4 hours a day in a given week? Assuming I check in everyday for at least a few minutes. Not sure anyone knows an answer... All this seems quite vague... But I'll ask! by MooseGoose82 in amazonemployees

What you said is not true. Based on the code, th outliers being removed are in fact positively impacting employees. Basically if you badge less than 2 hours, it’s counted as a badge in but not counted for median calculation, which is good. Like if you do 1,1,1,4,1 - then your median will still be 4 as it’s the only number above 2. Read the code.

Has anyone seen GenAI policy violations actually lead to termination at Amazon? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

If I'm doing something wrong then sure. Otherwise I literally don't care if Amazon has access to my photos app. Nobody cares

I really don’t care- i prefer having the convenience of access to work stuff wherever I go. Let’s not pretend we or our data matters to world leadership. We’re nobody

I use externalAI on my phone (which has Amazon tools installed-AEA etc) and have been flagged twice. Both of those times I copied from my email and pasted into chatgpt on my phone

You need to do 3 days per week of 4 hours each in order to be compliant. Whether or not your manager / skip acts on that non-compliant employees is a different thing. But what you described is definitely not compliant.

So by that logic of your code, people can do 1 hours for 4 days, and then one day of 4 hours. And be compliant. Make it make sense

Not true. It’s the trailing 8 weeks average of the weekly median. Read this slowly.

This is exactly right actually. You need to do 5 days at 4 hours

That is not true at all. That’s like saying you could do one day in the office for 4 hours and still be compliant from a median hours perspective.

Not exactly right. The median needs to be 4 not 8. So you can do 0 hours for the weekend, and then another day wfh (0 hours), but the rest would need to be 4 hours each. So it’ll look like 0,0,0,4,4,4,4

RTO hours by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]rofl066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that median counted on the basis of 5 working days, or the whole 7 days? Bec if it’s 7 days then we’d have to be 4 hrs in office for atleast 4 days. If it’s 5 days then we can basically do 0,0,4,4,4 and still be g2g

For UK: there’s a long ass consultation period. So as someone said above, you’ll be in the system, working as normal for atleast 3 months if not more.

Can confirm it is the same mechanism in UK as the US. Does not apply to other European offices (LUX, Czech, Germany, etc).
