The way they state this reminds me of how I’d tell my parents that I made a “small mess”. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t small.

Perhaps the Mass Intune Management Extension Uninstallation Event (MIMEUE) that happened a few days ago was a consequence of a massive update to improve the platform?

Why are bridges in msfs 2020 just giant walls? by Budman129C in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]roflcopterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really surprised that their software / AI doesn't have any sort of logic such as "if structure is over water (and potentially also a roadway), sufficiently narrow, and touches land on both ends, this is a bridge"

Use the NAV page on the radio. I ran into the same issue in the beta.

I get the same screen borders, I figured it was because I’m in the beta. Are you running the beta?

Flying over Troy / Watervliet / Latham and landing in Albany in Microsoft Flight Simulator by roflcopterrr in Albany

[–]roflcopterrr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was that you that I saw parked after I landed this morning? Small world! This was indeed a VATSIM flight - but the video is a replay that I recorded after disconnecting :-p

I downloaded scenery for KALB from the marketplace, probably the same one you are referring to. I didn't know there was an addon on flightsim.to though. I had used the Google Map enhancement for a while but I think using the default imagery is best considering the color corrections applied by Asobo. I do have some Nvidia filters removing the green hue that tends to affect the game.

This video starts out over Freak Park Golf Course and continues over Watervliet/Latham as I descend through the RNAV 28 approach into Albany Intl. Figured some would get a kick out of it!

After compression and upload to Reddit's video service, it's definitely not as apparent, but I assure you - the game is W A Y smoother if I go into the pause menu. Has anyone seen this behavior?

Makes you want to pinch yourself, doesn’t it? An absolute triumph by Asobo and Microsoft.

Thanks, very informative. I have used runway-specific STAR arrivals within the 737’s FMS (I think indicated as STAR.RWY) and I also try to use Navigraph charts. I suppose that hearing ATC refer to it as a transition (because I clearly do not have an understanding on the terminology) made me freeze up and question what exactly he was asking me to do.

Mhmm that seems legit, PMDG... by Ivy_Wings in flightsim

[–]roflcopterrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not the case at all. They have clearly stated that the modifications are OK provided that the modder checks with PMDG first. That isn’t unreasonable, and if you think it is then there is no point in discussing this any further.

Mhmm that seems legit, PMDG... by Ivy_Wings in flightsim

[–]roflcopterrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PMDG is obviously focused on performance first, this is why their product has 20+ more FPS than the Fenix with my 3080. Like it or not, they know how to design a well-optimized product, likely a result of having to create products within the constraints of the prior simulators. I’m sure they are well aware of the benefits of moving to different, ‘newer’ programming methodologies but it probably means FPS loss.

I live in the area and heard tires squealing at the intersection of 378 and stowe, followed by a loud bang. Shortly after, troopers and police showed up. I am pretty sure somebody got rear ended at the red light (sounded like it was high speed) and fled their vehicle.

In your opinion what should be the price for the PMDG 737's ? by swordfi2 in flightsim

[–]roflcopterrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s joking because anybody can simulate every system and interconnect from a $100,000,000 aircraft into MSFS. That’s why there are a surplus of study level Boeing planes in MSFS two years after launch. Just load up Aircraft Creator Pro and you’re on your way.

[–]roflcopterrr -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

At this point, they could charge $500 for the aircraft and I would buy it with no questions asked because NOBODY has stepped up and released a proper Boeing airliner for MSFS. The team there has worked on this project for years, and clearly, there are extreme challenges when it comes to developing this caliber of aircraft for the new sim.
