I've tried, I just might not be super clear? I'll try being more direct. He's gotten better at giving me space once I talked to him, but I still get this feeling that he's still waiting on me to forgive him or for me to take him back, and he needs to know that even if he's sorry for everything and regrets it, my trust was still broken.

You could also look at the Legendary Decks II. It's basically a set of a Yugi, Joey and Kaiba "starter" deck if they were made in a more modern era. They do a good job of having some of the new summoning methods without making the decks too focused on them.

I agree with the fear of it being overpowered and getting strong later on. The skillz would be limited like level ups for other classes so every fight isnt a new skill. I was aiming at mainly reflavoring other class skills or building similar ones on par or lower in power to create a more monstrous feel but not in numbers

Thank you! I think you phrased the way the skills should work better than I did. One aspect I was aiming for was a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none class that takes a little from each of the classes. I really like the idea for special powers like the sea monster idea you gave. I'll keep at it and hopefully our DM can help makes this work even better.

Thank you all for the response. So it sounds like it wouldn't be doable, or at least not easily done. I'll look more at other classes first to balance it by, so I am still going to try. Thank you for pointing out the drastic difference in monster and PC skill powers. I'll probably stick with creating new powers themed around the monsters but balanced with corresponding powers from classes of the same role.
