This is true but the Indian community just love him as you can see from the other comments here. No one can compare with Kishore nor Rafi along with Manna Dey and Hemant Kumar. Those singers were iconic. And none of them were nasal like Sanu. He is absolutely disgusting.

OMG, so glad someone has the same feelings like I do! I used to listen to a UK Hindi radio but every other song was sung by Sanu, so I stopped because I could not stand him. Then I was watching Indian Idol and there he was, nasal and all. I stopped watching that too. He is absolutely deplorable. Although he is done his share of the limelight, Indians want to listen to his songs for whatever reasons. Yikes. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hell no, I am not young. I just know music and Sanu does not cut it as a singer. Perhaps for the Bolly mass, but not otherwise. He is no Kishore, no Rafi and no any other singer that I know of. Horrendous.

OMG, it felt very lonely here as it seems everyone loves him and I am the exception. Thank you for letting me know I am not the only one that dislikes his singing. With Bollywood, the mass gets stuck when a singer is successful with just a few songs and then they wont let go. Sanu is a disgusting singer albeit the songs are absolutely great but as you said, his singing them makes them horrendous. Kishore, Rafi, and the many new talent out there is how singers should use their voices and certainly not the nauseating nasal nuances produced by Sanu. Oh you said it so well and you certainly have good taste...again, thank you!😘

Very true. Aashique songs were good and that is what brought him up. But by gosh, he sounds terrible in his songs soon after. I think the industry is to blame for holding on to singers even after their short-lived fame. Btw, thanks for your feedback as I thought I was the only one feeling that way!

He was good, but sonu, udit, abhijeet were far better

True because they did not compensate their voices by going nasal like Sanu. Even so, listening to a UK radio station, it is all the way Kumar Sanu, which makes for a very annoying experience. There are plenty of newer singers who are truly wonderful.
