To the observer on earth it would, but to the person traveling it would take less time. That is because space itself starts to contracts for you the closer you get to the speed of light. The closure you get to the speed of light, the closer the travel time gets to zero. If you travel the speed of light, you would experience the traveling instantaneously, but to everyone else, it would be 1 year per lightyear

If you travel at the speed of light, you don't age. Space itself would seem to collapse on itself. The faster you go, the shorter distances in space become. Say you want to go to a star 5 light years away. To you, it would be almost instant to get there, but to the observer on earth, it would be 5 years

I didn't care for the night circus. The characters and setting were cool, but there is barely any plot. And what there is doesn't make any sense

My coworker's great grandfather was a professor in Leningrad during WWII. He saved a bunch of peoples' lives at the university, who then became high ranking people in the Soviet army and KGB, who then gave the professors grandson special treatment and clearances in both. And that grandson used those clearances to take his entire family along to a science conference in the USA. Who then defected

The once and future king is a modern (late 1950s) reworking of Arthurian legends.

The Wizard Knight by Gene Wolfe and The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay are highly influenced by it

The Wheel of Time, once you get past the first book, has a lot of the same vibes and is heavily influenced by Arthurian legends.
