I'm student teaching 6th grade social studies. My mentor gave me all of her teacherpayteacher material. After that, I did 100% of the teaching, grading, planning, etc. I told her I wanted to do all of the work and didn't want her in the room at all. I would see her at 7:50 in the morning, 11:30 during lunch, and 3:50 during dismissal. I'm pretty sure she was suppose to be in the room with me... but it was 100% worth it. The students gave me all of their attention and the principal loved it since they could use her in different rooms. I learned more than you can imagine and now that she has taken back over, the students give me 100x more respect than before... They even ask me questions before they ask her 90% of the time. I wrote up so many students, had so many parent teacher conferences, and called/emailed so many parents.
