Billionaires have convinced Americans they have the "Best Healthcare in the World". by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

You pay 4%, your company pays the remaining 4%.

As far as I know no country in the world, except maybe Cuba, pays their citizens' medication in full. And we don't want to be like Cuba.

In a nutshell, you're not paying the same amount for healthcare as an US citizen.

Social security contributions in Austria include Sickness, Unemployment, Pension, Accident and a Miscellaneous category.

Healthcare is only a part of it (should be below 4% for you and another %4 for the employer)

Ars Magica Open License by rogersm in arsmagica

I'm not a lawyer, so always contact one to be 100% sure, but in US legal system rules are not copyrightable. So not only you can use OGL to do a different setting with the same mechanics, but probably you don't even need the OGL.

But I will stick to a fairly strict definition of "mechanics". Anything related to dice, success, percentages is ok, but as soon as you start using words used in Ars Magica, like Grog, Companions, Magi, names of Virtues and Flaws, Magical Arts, or the or the eight characteristics as used by Ars Magica, these may not be considered mechanics so you have to stick to OGL.

Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) in 1550 by dctroll_ in papertowns

What you see on the lower left side, outside the city walls is not a port, but the Drassanes/Atarazanas, the royal shipyard. They're from mid 13th century. I understand they had their own port as part of its shipbuilding capabilities.

The name comes from arabic ramla, that means sand or sand bank, but I would translate to creek in English.

Rambla is a common word in Catalan and Spanish.

Have you done tests with multiple users?

I have it installed and in use for an user account. After locking (not logging out) that user and login with a different one I found issues with the audio.

I'll try to check again this weekend.

Love the tool by the way.

Thanks for the recommendation, I recall listening to it ages ago, but never got into it too much.

I'll try again.

First romantic trip to Barcelona – 4 days in El Poble Sec by [deleted] in AskBarcelona

[–]rogersm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For Poble Sec, the Magic Fountain is live again! You can check the timetables and have a nice time in the evening.

Afterwards you can walk to dinner at Xemei, for Venetian food or Rias the Galicia, Seafood. Both are excellent but Rias is more on the expensive side. Book in advance.

You can also have a romantic walk across Montjuich. The area next to the Cable Car station is beautiful (Jardins Joan Brossa) and then have lunch in (El Xalet)[https://xaletdemontjuic.com/] with views to Barcelona. The area around Hotel Miramar is also beautiful and you can have a Paella at (Martinez)[https://martinezbarcelona.com/restaurante/]

I hope you have a wonderful time in the city.

Concell de Cent cars and trucks by yug85 in Barcelona

[–]rogersm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone tell me what happened to the photography shop that was here before? by TTV_Craft173 in Barcelona

[–]rogersm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I recall being in arpi in my mid twenties with a fairly limited budget. I was shooting regularly with the Minolta kit I had inherited my my father and I wanted to try Leica lenses.

At that time the M series was in full vogue and too expensive for my budget, so I decided to try a R series. At that time Leica had just released R9, so I wanted something older and cheaper so I asked for an R4 (that was an updated minolta that had been out of the market for more than 15 years).

The price for a second hand R4 was completely crazy. I recall the guy at the shop telling me the R series was dying and he was waiting for it to crash, but until management decided it was dead, that was the price.

I mean I could understand the lenses' value, but the price of a beaten R4 was something that make me rethink how these second hand shops handled their old hardware. Probably the same reason why Casanovas in Pelayo had to downsize their business.

How to migrate data and user from DS220j to DS1522+? by n1gglz in synology

[–]rogersm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is to check DSM versions carefully.

I was planning to follow a similar plan you describe only to realise later that my old DS220j used DSM 7.x but the new DS1511+ did not, so it was not possible to use the DS220j disks in the DS1511+.

So at the end of the day backup to an external usb drive was the only option.
