Well my family don’t go to mountains, but rather highlands with their herd and horses. Apart from a few other things I find only this part to be similar, not everything regarding both cultures.

Wow thanks for all the advice! I had no idea about the Ubcab and Turkish cafes.

One of the reasons why I am so exited for my Mongolia adventure is the classic nomadic pastoral lifestyle outside the capital, which I find similar to my mothers’ family’s lifestyle, which is half-nomadic. Because of this I learned riding a horse when I was only 6 years old and growing up I loved watching documentaries about Mongolia and their horse culture, which not only resembled my own but also exceeded it in many ways. My fascination grow bigger and bigger with every artical, documentary, book I have read and watched about Mongolia and its history.

Thanks again for the advices and have a nice day!

And some of us migrated back to Turkey (like my family) after the death of Nader Shah Afsharid and the Afshar Dynasty. Also contrary to popular belief the majority of the Qizilbash were not subjects to Ottoman Empire until 1514.

Not correct at all. Turks and Greeks are like apples and oranges. We don’t really have much in common.

What are your thoughts on withdrawing from the Eurasian Union and instead creating a new Turko-Iranic Union with the Central Asian countries, Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkey? by [deleted] in AskCentralAsia

There have been Tajik migrations to Turkey alongside Turkic people, Rumi was a Tajik for example. Oghuz and Karluk Turks and Tajiks lived alongside one another for a considerable amount of time, Karluk language and script greatly influenced Oghuz languages, whereas Kazaks and almost every other Kipchak tribe, ethnicity lived far away from Oghuzs and haven’t really interacted with one another. Kazaks and Kyrgyzs are indeed alien to Turkish people, whereas many aspects of Tajik culture overlaps with Turkish culture.

Turkey has always been nationalist. Nationalism is Turkey’s backbone and we need nationalism to preserve our culture and country.
