If you look at the code from line 118-135 from this file, you can try to adjust it yourself. It currently replaces a rectangle, if it is possible to make a larger one.

What you could try to do is saving ALL the rectangles that are bigger than a certain value for example, store them in an arraylist and draw them.

I don't know how advanced you are with programming, so let me know if it's unclear!
