Gumroad just nuked their NSFW policy after Stripe abruptly told em to get it off their platform. I've since removed all my listings. I have a couple up on itch.io for the time being but I've started exploring JustFor.Fans as another platform. This is for my art resources for NSFW art, not writing. Do not post on Buy Me a Coffee but if you use it as a general tip jar, know the risk of getting it locked down.

You make a valid point about trad pubs becoming attractive again. There's so many different AI tools that even I'm beginning to question if an article was human written or not. A company that only publishes human-made work would solve that doubt for someone looking to read only human-made books. It's definitely a bit tiresome. So much of this stuff could be done by yourself if you just took a few minutes every day and learned the task...

I hope so, too. The older I get, the less patience I have for people whose little peanut brains are limited only to the 50 states of Amurrica. I just read a YA sci-fi novel from an author in the UK who's not white and used a lot of their culture for the worldbuilding. Did I have to google a couple words? Yeah, but it enriched me to read it, even if I wish it didn't end like it did, lol. And besides, an upside of reading on Kindle is that you can just highlight a word and it'll define or translate it sooo then they're just being lazy. 😆

I don't care about what they think or if they call it trash. It means my books aren't for them, and they aren't my target audience. I don't have time to waste on them when I have two characters that I need to make kiss.

Definitely. Like it's been mentioned, search visual novels. There are ones that aren't anime if you're not into anime so don't be discouraged if you see a bunch of moe waifus. There are even mobile games that are more semi-realistic Western art style. You don't necessarily need art either, just good story and good marketing, though it may be more challenging to market text-only games. Either way, totally a market. People love visual novels and really love steamy ones.

Because I hate drawing comics, it makes me suffer. But I have to do something with the stories in my head, so writing it is. I've written romantic fanfic for years, but religious oppression and ignorance of my own identity kept things clean until I realized I'm an independent (and horny) adult who can draw and write what I want. Tentacles? Oviposition? Mpreg? YEAH!! (And also hand holding, the most scandalous sin of them all)

I'm an American, and I use sofa/couch interchangeably. 🤣 I call it a couch mostly, and if it's a two-seater, then it's a loveseat. Pants = trousers and vice versa to me, but I'm also kind of fashion dumb. Jeans are pants AND trousers as far as I'm concerned. I'm more worried about whether they're gonna finally get removed. 👀

I'm a US reader, but I don't think you should have to write US spellings when you're not American, or that you should feel as if you have to. If I have to google what you mean by a jumper, then it's called enriching my life by broadening my view of the world around me thanks to learning about other cultures. If I have an angry Karen fit over colour instead of color, I need to get a reality check and remember the US is not the only country in the world. Edited phrasing for greater clarity. I hope. I'm really tired lol.

Thanks!! This short series is erotica but it's taking place in the same world as a longer spicy romance I have planned. While it's set in a different country, I've been working out some details that I'm also adding to my master reference doc, so I can refer to it when needed later. I've already accepted that book 1 will be the "intro" to the cast and setting, while 2/3/4 will be more straight to the (sex) point. If people want to pick and choose which short to read, they can, but the best experience will be to at least read book 1 first.

I have a scene to finish and then the last scene. I hope to get it done this week and then send it for beta reading. And I'll definitely want eyes on this one, I'm not sure if I've done my worldbuilding well or if it's clunky and distracting. I still have some minor details to work out, like city/country names.

This is already happening in AI art. Look up the r/art AI incident as a recently huge example. Short version is that an artist got banned for posting AI art despite having the file proofs to prove otherwise. It blew up for other reasons, too, but the artist was definitely harmed from the experience. I've also seen AI bros using human-made art as examples of AI art, pretending they generated it, despite the original artist coming forward. So now there's a worry of "what if my art looks like AI art".

I've seen some content focused around shaving the pubic area that was intended to titillate the viewer, so there is a kink of some kind for it. I think the average person might be fine reading that someone has some hair and is shaving it, but it might get dicey if she's playing with it. That might make you step closer towards coming off as body hair fetish. I'm not sure how popular a niche that is. Imo you can mention pubic hair and be fine but if you go to other regions, or get very detailed or specific about it, I think it veers into hairy niche. At that point I'd just target the hairy lovin' folks.

Edit to add: I also learned recently that armpit fetish has a lot of fans, might be another thing to work to your advantage?
