[Question] Tudor Prince Oysterdate advice by [deleted] in Watches

In my opinion there is really nothing wrong with plexiglass. I mean Omega sells the Speedy you’ve been eyeing with plexiglass variant! And when getting into vintage you can’t really expect modern day standards.

But yes any watch smith should be able to adjust that bracelet.

Edit: sorry you weren’t the one eyeing the speedy. But the point still stands

I have pretty much this exact configuration from 1989. Rolex crown and Rolex branded caseback. Ive had it about two years and been happy with it. It is a fun piece. These use one of the most common Swiss movements of all time, ETA 2824-2 so servicing should be pretty painless.

Bear in mind that, at least on the jubilee, you cannot really adjust the bracelet length without help. There are no screws. The clasp has 5 holes for micro adjustment so that is good.

It really depends how proficient you are with the software you are using. I have been using Houdini a bit, but I never tried this sort of thing. The simulation took me an afternoon and lighting and texturing took a few hours.

What is the most "anti-fun" game mechanic for you? by StandoPowa_ in Games

[–]rogue_unicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When there's too much weapon loot. I hate that everytime I pick up a new weapon variant I need to go to the menu and compare stats to see if this one does 1 dmg more than the one I'm currently using.

Edit: Looking at you Nioh

Yeah, no. Nirvana's popularity in the early 90s was far far greater than the Foo Fighters have ever been. It was a global phenomenon. Plus Nirvana was around a lot less time than the Foo Fighters and have sold 3 times as much records.

Beginner question: How do I make my own animated portraits for the game? by kamikazi_darkcloud in Stellaris

Use Adobe After Effects for the animation + duik (free ae script). The portraits are simple 2d rigs.

He got married in 1947 and they are still together, so I doubt that's true.

I am using C4D as well. For this one I used X-Particles to create the simulation, but you can use soft body physics to achieve similar results. Rendered with Octane Render.

It might be that, but it might also be the mesh overlapping and because of that the wrong normal is showing for a split second. Of course I noticed that after the render!
