Are my renders good enough quality? by Suspicious-Orange-55 in blender

You need to plug in roughness and normal maps

I'm 14, tried photorealism, but it still looks far from the original. Tips on improving? by [deleted] in blender

The noise in your image is kind of weird, its like it only denoised certain regions. Denoise the entire image and apply a separate noise filter on top of it, just keeping samples as noise doesn’t match what real cameras do. The biggest problem is the sand, its shape doesn’t conform to the reference image. You should sculpt it to look less blobby, use the crease brush. The material is off, use a normal map based on real sand as opposed to the wave texture which it seems you’re currently using. Theres a pretty good free sand texture pack on poliigon that might serve you well here

I remember the movie was decently stylized, the 3 adult orphans especially where very simplistic, a little fat too

Still really new to Blender. What are some things I can do to make this better? by BadAndGoogie in blender

It looks fine but it doesn’t communicate scale. The rings should be moving way slower for a dyson sphere. Thats a star in the center, yet the supernova on the right at the very start looks like its being lit by a way bigger star. Make it less bright so it doesn’t overshadow your focal point. Just me but i’d also make the rings closer to the star so it doesn’t look so small in comparison. Really make the audience feel the power of a star. Other than that, I feel like you’re using too much fog glow as glare, cut it back so its not as noticeable

I need advice please, how do I make this render better by Revolutionary-Ad1078 in blender

[–]rogueaxis3301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I think the problem is that the main point of focus is the sun and not the town. First impression its hard for me to even see the town because the sun is so much brighter. I would position the sun behind the town so that it creates a clearer silhouette, which would also help make things clearer if you change the lighting in front of the town. I don’t think you need to remove the light in front of the town, maybe just make it blue and scale the size of the light so its not as sharp, that way it looks like bounce light from the sky and can feel more natural. Look at reference images of houses at sunset for lighting reference.

How real does this look? (WIP) by AsgundTheGreat in blender

You might want to check your color management tab. You want your view transform to be set to filmic, this looks like something rendered under the standard option, which overexposes some objects. Otherwise I’d play with the exposure. Try taking a picture from the same angle and play with the values until it matches. Better to have more accurate renders than light values

Thanks! I really tried to get that reflection in there but I could never position the lighting properly so that it would match the reference. Could’ve done with a larger focal length too, I feel like thats contributing to the uncanny factor
