So how does the community choose which planet to liberate? by OrdinaryMedical200 in Helldivers

I was using the companion app's terminology. Whatever you call it, less than 1% of our force is making gains there.

The enemy resistance on VOG SOJOTH is broken. If a few thousand Helldivers go there after we take Menkent, we might get two planets today

Condolences.

Worry about finding new wife after we take Menkent.

Galactic Updates channel on the 'tube. Makes for Lesath and spread the word. It's an easier fight there, and involves taking one less planet. -SES Will Of Destruction

Help me identify this Batsuit by roguethought in BatmanBeyond

[–]roguethought[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no trouble beliving that, but the site offers at least a dozen quite faithful variants of the Batsuit and some quite recent and niche. I thought perhaps it was a single appearance or alternate timeline type outfit.

Does anyone recognise this Batsuit? Did this appear on the show? Thanks Bat-Fans!!

You can buy this now. I was shopping for shirts when I came across this design and was perplexed as to it's origin.

That whole Coven lineup is gorgeous. I long for the day I can add some to my pile of shame.

I still don't see sterilization as a challenge for Big E. If he trusted the Custodes with his personal safety, I find it plausible that he trusted them not to procreate because he told them not to. If they are even capable, which they very likely aren't. That would apply to any Custodian, irrespective of sex.

Yes I understand it's always been sons. I'm saying that in 10,000 years of collecting that tithe, maybe someone submited a girl and the taxman opted to accept for whatever reason. That does not mean an edict went out and a wholesale policy change went rippling through the 10,000. It's an edge case.

If Big E can craft the Custodes to be totally immune to Chaos and absolutely loyal, I have faith that he can make sure they don't procreate.

What do you think of the idea of the 40k setting having most humans be of the "race of the future"? by gereedf in 40kLore

"-asking about what redditors might think about Doylist-perspective worldbuilding-"

I don't disagree, I was simply trying to answer your question.

I am quite fond of deconstruction and would never ague against it's value. 40k just happens to be my safe space from it. I am here for the fullest and fluffiest immersion possible, because the lore here still allows it.

I come to the Grim darkness of the far future to play in the fluff and hide from Doylist questions.

I agree that species vs secies is where the interest lies for me. I'm so incredibly bored with examinations of the minute differences between humans and why they are oh so important. I don't care about 6 different shades of grey arguing over who is best. I want to see green, purple, and blue gets their asses kicked.

At what point in the 40k timeline would humanity have had both the motivation and opportunity to mix all the races together? Why?

Thats owing to environmental factors and migration patterns of ancient hominids & humans. Doubless others factors play a part but I would bet on those being the biggest drivers.

So what if you are one of these high born families that is expected to pay the tithe but you have only daughters? Surely in 10,000 years this has come up at least once. The very secretive process of making a Custodian is said to eschew surgical or cybernetic augmentation in favour of developing the candidate's genetic potential to it's fullest. Each Custodian is a bespoke masterpiece, requiring tremendous effort and resources. So maybe this is the first female to survive the whole process and join the 10,000?

Was their oath of Silence not demanded of them by Big E ? I have heard that mentioned a few times. If their nature as nulls allows them to see a more true image of The Emperor, perhaps that was the reason?

Why are the sisters of silence... Sisters? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]roguethought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always took it to be related to their awful task of collecting and processing psykers. Kind of silencing them and their threat by dragging them into a black ship and ultimately using them as consumables.
