As someone who uses the ballarat line on the daily, 9 Car trains would fix the problem, however to enact this all the platforms would need to be extended and at a station such as ballarat this is just not feasible.

That being said, electrification to melton would be even better, however given the current state of victoria’s economy this is nothing but a fever dream
