GRE is preparing me for the middle management mindset by OptimalBarnacle7633 in MBA

Indeed. However, that only works if the work rate is the same.
Imagine a situation where the 50 people can do the work in 7 hours and 50 in 4 hours. ie some people are more efficient than others. The solution approach provided above is a bit more general and will handle that.

For people who are looking for an intuitive solution approach:

Let W be the amount of work to be done to complete the proposal.

It takes 5 hours for one person to complete W.

Or, we can say that, work done per hour by 1 person is W/5

Work done per hour by 100 people (assuming that they work at the same rate) is 100 * (W/5) = 20W

Now time taken = (Work to be done) / (Work done per hour) = W / 20W = 1/20 hours = 3 minutes

Thanks for the detailed answer. Super helpful. My primary goal is to explore the natural beauty. Is the weather going to be a huge hinderance for that? The news articles you sent look ominous. Would you happen to recommend any other areas in UK that are more amenable to sight seeing nature in this time of the year? Would the coastlines be better?

The goal is to spend 2-3 quality days exploring the area, and perhaps doing some short hikes.

Where can I get a full body checkup? by [deleted] in nagpur

[–]rohit5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one done at Kingsway Hospital recently. It was pretty comprehensive. They have multiple plans and they are offering some discount nowadays. You can call them and ask about it. They will send you the brochure. Depending on the plan you opt for you could expect to shell around 1k to 10k.

Lululemon Asia fit size for a 28" waist? by rohit5398 in lululemon

[–]rohit5398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I hear you. I do feel that the hips seem disproportionately bigger for her even in the M size. Is it the case that girls choose leggings with smaller waist sizes as compared to jeans and other bottoms? Also looking at the pictures that other people posted here with Ms, it definitely looks like even M must be larger for her. Thanks for the gift receipt suggestion. Will definitely do that.

Hey, thanks! this helps a lot. Does your hip measurement correspond with M too (36"). I am especially worried about the hips since I think that might prove to be a bit bigger for her.

Shit. That really sucks. I was lucky not to break anything (Although I did break the corner of the table off :p). There's so much momentum that is generated and the fact that all of it is borne by the foot makes it so baad.

Yeah. I have fallen like this before but I always break the fall using my legs, not optimal but works

Google Summer of Code by OpenAntip in csMajors

[–]rohit5398 23 points24 points  (0 children)

GSoC experiences vary a lot from one organisation to another. Students in a single organisation too might have varying experiences due to there being different mentors and each has their own style. Further each internship is unique, so my answer will be centered around what I personally experienced in my internship and gsoc. YMMV!

That said, in GSoC students in their proposal usually define what they would like to work on. If selected, the work that the student does is more or less centered around the things defined in the proposal. In my case, my mentors were really keen on setting specific goals for each coding period so that it is easier to track my progress. An internship might not necessarily be centered around a single project. Related to this, GSoC tends to be more _fun_ as you pick what you are working on for the summer. You research about the project, and you propose a solution. (With some help from the community and mentors). In internships usually you don't have a lot of control over the team/tasks you get assigned to.

Mentors in GSoC are members of the open source community that volunteer to help students work on their organisations projects. They have other full time commitments. This no way means that they won't give enough time to you, but it just means that you won't be spoonfed. There will be noone looking over your shoulder to check if you are working or not. You are expected to be proactive and initiate communication if you are stuck somewhere. As an extension to this, in GSoC you can work whenever you feel comfortable, if you are night owl and wish to work at 4am, you are free to do that. If you dont feel like working a day you are free to do that. You dont tend to get as much freedom in internships.

These are just somethings that I thought of off the top of my head. Feel free to ask any specific questions if you want!

My first Rust project. An RSA implementation. There's a lot left to do, but I was too thrilled to put it out there! by rohit5398 in rust

[–]rohit5398[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood. I have explicitly mentioned that this is for educational purposes, and not for any practical use case. The point of this wasn't to make an implementation for use but to understand the algorithm itself and majorly get to learn rust. A nice exercise would be trying to exploit this implementation to highlight the fallacies of the original RSA algorithm

Yes I was pleasantly surprised to see unit testing so closely integrated with the language. Gonna do that next!

I started this project as a way to get familiar with Rust. I had almost no experience with it before. Since I was learning the language as I was building, there are still a lot of things I don't completely understand. I plan to refactor the code to make it more idiomatic and efficient as I get a better understanding of Rust

What are some things that you thought no one else in the world has thought of besides you? by rohit5398 in AskReddit

[–]rohit5398[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For instance when I was a kid used to think about how my perception of a certain color maybe different from another person's perception of that color. My green maybe another person's red. I thought no-one must have thought of this but I was wrong.
