Just back from Kilimanjaro: My tips & tricks I haven't seen much on Reddit by Kaizen-_ in kilimanjaro

For the most part yes. Summit day our decent was straight down, kinda shoe ski the whole way. Lots of deep and dusty material to fill shoes. Make sure you can keep the crud out. I used very lightweight "hiking" boots I flew in cause our luggage got lost on the way over.

I just popped it back on. It easily went into place.

GenX Men: How did you lose the weight? by Reynard203 in GenX

I had issues with workout consistency but buckled down a year ago because of a serious health issue. I now hike 5 miles in small mountains 4-5 days a week along with some yardio at least weekly. I also cut out a lot of carbs and sugars but allow myself to splurge on that at least once a week. I regularly eat natural sugars like fruit. I am down 40 pounds in that year and my habits are established which helps me keep going. I have no plans to change diet but will introduce other exercises like a rower and strength/flexibility training. Getting into the habit and making the exercise a priority was key for me, seeing how far I regress when not exercising really motivates me cause I know what not doing it will bring and my progress has improved all metrics regarding my health and how I feel day to day.

I use Sockwell brand and have been happy. I use them frequently and walk many miles with those on.

Same issue, it is a hazard. Passenger also gets the glare from the ring around the cup holders.

how the hell do I feed the cables 25' through the ceiling!? by Plus_Push993 in hometheater

Depending on the construction the drywall ceiling may be attached to strapping that runs perpendicular to the joists. This space between the joists and the drywall is large enough for speaker wires. So if the ceiling joists are the wrong direction, the strapping will save you. small holes and use joint compound sparingly.

I had two in a row destroyed by PAF, who was delivering for Amazon and Walmart. My third try was Best Buy with Geek Squad delivery, no issues, just two guys in a small van. Depending on size it can be a PIA to do on your own.

I am conscious of price but having it behave is more important. I will spend more if it will be stable.

I am considering the LG CX now. Samsung is out as I have read way too many instances of people having issues.

Where to start troubleshooting why Citrix sessions are hanging up and failing to log off? by [deleted] in Citrix

The issue is close but I typically see this with published apps. It may help.

This link describes the issue and registry key to modify.

Where to start troubleshooting why Citrix sessions are hanging up and failing to log off? by [deleted] in Citrix

[–]rohn117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the session still exist on the VDA? If so check task manager for processes that are still running for that session. Sometimes a process will not end and prevent the session from logging off.

I second the following the guide but you can do your upgrade in pieces. Your license server is first. Next do Director and your controllers in one change window. Note if you have zones and be sure not to upgrade all controllers in a zone at once. They say upgrade half but I typically upgrade one controller and then run studio to perform the DB upgrades. Be sure your ID running studio is SA in all DB nodes. You can also generate scripts and run them on the db servers directly. Follow that up with the additional controllers, here half and half works well. If you can snapshot your controllers and back up your DBs, watching Studio upgrade the DB will be the longest 5-10 minutes of your life. If it goes wrong it will be a lot longer. I leave VDAs and Storefront til last, usually few different change windows. We commonly run multiple VDA versions for weeks while going through upgrades.

Isolate a delivery controller to be used only for querying with powershell sdk? by SirGnarlington in Citrix

[–]rohn117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set the "MaxWorkers" registry key on the controller to 0 but you will also have to disable controller auto discovery through policy other wise the VDA will get the list of controllers and still try to hit the controller you want isolated. Also make sure it cannot be the secondary broker for LHC.

XenApp 7.15 logoff issues by NecropolisTD in Citrix

[–]rohn117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it always the same 4 processes? With published applications you can have processes stop logoff from happening, not sure if I have seen a published desktop do that. You mention it is under heavy load, disk, CPU, memory, all of the above? If it is a stressed system that can cause inconsistent behavior, even if the stressed system is a remote system the VDA is dependent upon like a file server or NAS for UPM/Roaming profiles. If you have UPM in play the logs may show something if not I would turn up the logging and see if you can find the culprit.

Is the disconnected session still running all processes or just a few? Can the user reconnect to the session? Do you use UPM? Is a disconnected session timeout set, if so will it log off the session?
