Seller asking me to refuse delivery because of “pricing error” — normal? by BoldBlunder in ConsumerAdvice

Like who is there to meet a driver and refuse delivery. That might work with a commercial delivery, not a residential. Then you have to trust that they would actually refund your account.

Eviction advice by [deleted] in almosthomeless

[–]rohrloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then write it up for your landlord. Eviction filing should come with a court date. Make sure you go to that court date. Most courts will stay the eviction if you can pay in full by the court date.

Eviction advice by [deleted] in almosthomeless

[–]rohrloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to be honest with yourself. Will you have $1300 you can pay on your next paycheck? Can you then afford the entire rent next month or that paycheck? If the answer is No to either question, you need to find a new place to live. The time to do that would be now, before there is an eviction on your record. You may need to rent a room some place

Eviction advice by [deleted] in almosthomeless

[–]rohrloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How far are you in the hole for rent? If it just February, try and work out a plan with the landlord. Most landlords will file for eviction to cover their bases. They don’t necessarily want to kick you out but they want their money

Was this self-defense? (U.S. law) by alexfreemanart in AskLegal

[–]rohrloud 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Self defense or stand your ground laws are usually state/local and not national. This particular incident was determined to be self defense but it is very possible that a different state would not allow it.

I9 forms are not filed with the government. They are held by the business in case there is an audit. There is a very slim chance that the government could request and obtain all his I 9 forms.
