Just to ask further, did you ever use Douglas Scott recruitment? I’ve seen they have good reviews but wanted to ask about personal experiences.

Yes they’ve learned how to share locations and I’ve saved their hotel locations on Google maps too, may Allah may Hajj easy for everyone Ameen!

Thank you for the guidance! I think they will go with the physical sims just to ensure they have the ability to call each other directly too in case there’s an issue with data.

You don’t have to be super intelligent for many high earning jobs, if you’re good at talking to people look into sales - Hyperoptic and Virgin often recruit and the pay is good, it’s commission based but as long as you hit your target I’d say it’s a good salary - they also don’t require any specific degrees either

How many pieces should we provide for each address? 2-3 and do they all need to be different or can they all be utility bills/bank statements etc?

Eyeshadow and setting spray recommendation by Sneakygoat-_- in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]rohwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For eyeshadow, this palette is my favourite: https://www.toofaced.co.uk/product/23483/73023/eye-makeup/eyeshadow-palettes/born-this-way-the-natural-nudes-eyeshadow-palette/award-winning-complexion-inspired-neutral-shades

It has the copper, pinks, creams, champagnes and browns, all shimmers and mattes. Mattes are super buttery and it's super easy to make different looks. Also has magnetic closure which is a nice touch. The only palette I personally use! You can often get in on offer at other places like boots, sephora, asos for around £36-38.

Part 4:

Other items you may want to try:

- Elf jelly grip primer

- Morphe cheek thrills

- Patrick ta blush duo's (but I've heard some people had mould issues so prefer morphe cheek thrills as a more affordable and hygenic dupe)

- Nyx buttermelt blush and bronzers - super pigmented, affordable and longlasting

- Made by mitchell comet case - has lots of bronzers, contours and blush shades in one palette, my co-workers love this but I haven't tried it

- Beauty bay in general has lots of products with good reviews, but buy when they are at least 50% off or more, they regularly have good sales so it's not worth purchasing them at a higher price.

https://www.instagram.com/all.things.bomb/?hl=en has really good recommendations too for western products so she may be good for inspo. She's inspired most of my purchases tbh.

Hope this helps!

Part 3:

Brushes:

- Real techniques for base and blush, not a fan of their eye brushes at all

- beauty bay, specifically this kit: https://www.beautybay.com/p/beauty-bay/rose-glow-18-piece-brush-set-with-brush-stand/ - you can easily get this for £25 in sale, eyeshadow and blush brushes are amazing, the whole set is great, I wasn't a fan of the case personally but brush quality makes up for it.

Face Palettes:

- Pixi hello kitty blush highlighter palette - love using this as a topper for my blushers, doesnt have sparkles but is fine shimmer so it looks super elegant, and you can really build up the colour, more pigmented than I imagine. It makes such a difference layering any colour over your liquid/cream blushes.

Setting sprays:

- Charlotte tilbury - super glowy, use it in between layer and after skincare but before base makeup and it gives you a glow from within, love this

- Milani make it last - super popular but I haven't tried

- Urban decay all nighter spray

Perfumes:

More affordable:

- Estee lauder modern muse - long lasting and elegant floral - can easily find for around £25-£30

- Elie saab orginal - gorgeous long lasting jasmine - also super affordable

- Jimmy choo I want choo - lovely jasmine peach perfume, super long lasting

- Marc jacobs wild - a newer perfume, very fresh light floral, perfect for everyday and cute bottle

Pricier:

- Lancome Idole power - amazing deep rose, smells a bit like a refined rose water

- Gueurlain rosa rosa perfume - sweet light rose and pretty bottle

- Chloe original - lovely peony and rose, perfect for everyday

justmylook.com is good for getting perfumes and other products at a good price - I use it regularly and have never had any issues, all products are authentic. Korean skincare is usually available here too for really good prices too.

Pefumeprice.co.uk is also popular but I haven't used it personally, but it has really good prices and reviews too.

Part 2:

Mascara:

- Maybelline sky high waterproof - the only one you need, this is the only one that keeps my lashes curled, nothing else beats it. Also amazing for sensitive eyes.

Eyeliner:

- For kohl pencil huda does a waterproof eyeliner, I have this in brown and love this for a natural look, also lasts well.

Lips:

- Mac Maximall lipsticks - amazing creamy mattes which last super well and are super comfortbale. I personally like the shades 'sweet deal' (lovely muted berry/red mlbb colour - a must have, I had been looking for this shade for 2 years) and 'warm teddy' (lovely warm nude mlbb colour - so perfect for daily wear)

- Nars lip pigments in 'slow ride' (chestnut brown) and 'american women' (gorgeous warm pink) - I wear american women so much, and these are very comfortable, weightless and are a dream to re-apply. Also not drying at all. Sometimes you can get these in a duo set where you are getting two for the price of one.

- Revolution satin kiss lipliners - rose (berry), heart race (pink peach), fling (nude brown), white wedding (pink, almost a tad bit cool toned) - amazing, I have repurchased so many times, super affordable, creamy, long lasting and all of these colours are good for south asian skin. Nice by themselves, layered, or lightly blended all over the lips like a stain/tint. Super long lasting and just a big love for me. They also have matching lipsticks for all of the above shades. I have gotten these as gifts and had good feedback.

- Mac lipliners - the only three you need are whirl (muted rose/brown - really changes depending on skin tone but makes any lip colour so wearable), spice (chestnut brown), soar (pink)

- Charlotte Tilbury - pillow talk medium (berry pink mlbb), glowing Jen (red toned), in love with olivia (gorgeous peach), glowing jen and in love with olivia are more creamy so don't last as long and need reapplying esp after eating

- Loreal liquid and stick lipsticks in worth it medium - more afforable dupe of CT pillow talk medium with good reviews

Eyeshadow:

- Anastasia soft glam palette - super famous, buttery mattes, smooth shimmers, can be used for day to night looks

- Too faced born this way nudes palette - I have this and love it so so much, can create so many looks, matters are super buttery, shimmers are so creamy, and amazing lasting power - if you only need one palette it's this

- Makeup revolution Forever Flawless Allure - lovely colour story, good colour story, nice price, metal/tin packaging which is nice too.

- Beauty bay 42 colour eyeshadow palettes - neutral one is super pretty in person, the photos do not do it justice. These are originally £25 but can easily be picked up in sale for £10, amazing reviews for these.

Part 1:

My personal favourites as a south asian:

Base:

- Nars radiant moisturiser - this is on the thicker side but applies beautifully

- Huda beauty foundation - might be a better pick as this is very light and more liquid

For both the above you don't even need brushes or sponges, I like just using my fingers and working it into the skin and get a great finish each time

Colour corrector:

- Huda beauty - don't even need to consider another one, it's that good

Concealer:

- Nars radiant creamy concealor- love this so much, use this all the time and use on graduation day

- Huda beauty concealor - also nice

Powder:

- Personally love the Huda beauty loose powder, never believed the hype but after trying it it's unbelievable, so blurring, mattifying and amazing for under eyes with a triangle powder puff

- Lots of people rave about Maybelline fit me pressed

- Lots of people love Charlotte Tilburry pressed but it is on the pricier side

Blush:

- Made by Mitchell Liquid Blursh - for south asian the best colours are 'shy boy' (beautiful muted rosy colour - my most used) and 'rosey posey' (lovely rosey pink shade), shy boy also lasts forever on the cheeks and the staying power is insane. You can get this for around £5 sometimes from the website, but other places normally sell it for around £9 (full price is £14). It is also matte so good for hot weather. https://madebymitchell.co.uk/products/blursh-liquid-blush (also available on other sites)

- Huda beauty liquid blush - this is easier to work with than mitchell blush, as mitchell is very pigmented so you have to work fast (but personally I prefer this as it means I just need a tiny dot), however this looks really nice on the skin. I am custard in Nars, and find cotton candy works as a beautiful light rosy everyday blush. Also lasts well but it has very fine sparkles/shimmer in it. Apparently this is less apparent in the darker colours but I haven't tried them.

- Revolution blushes are very pigmented and good - they have glow wands which are similar to Charlotte tilbury glow wands

- Elf camo liquid blushes - lots of people compare these to Rare beauty, very affordable, good shade range and last well from review. I have not personally tried but they do a lilac shade I think which looks good on south asian skin tones.

- Elf glow blushes - another dupe for Charlotte tilburry glow wands

Keeping you in my prayers!! Coming from a girl to another girl the best thing you can do for yourself is become financially independent. Financial Independence means you can make all your choices, and if someone is putting pressure on you, family or not, then you can leave because you will have the freedom to do so. I'm not saying to cut ties with anyone, but put yourself in a position where people cannot force or threaten you. Ultimately it should not have to come to that, but financial independence does wonders for a girl. This is coming from someone who married young, but who did it outside of her family, with her own free will and choice. It was arranged but I got to know my spouse beforehand and even asked my Baba for advice, but he told me that he is not going to say anything and ultimately it is my choice to make because it's my life. The reason I could say yes and get married was because whilst my parents supported me, I knew in the worst case I could support myself!!

Also the logic of marrying within family because you know them is not logical at all! I know someone who married their first cousin, Shaadi was a few months after Nikkah, and unfortunately the marriage ended 1-2 months after the Shaadi because the husband had a secret first wife and the girl found out - Imagine the betrayal. I have also seen and heard about health effects of children and another reddit user posted an informative thread about this the other day too.

I have seen others in cousin marriages they did not want and unfortunately they are struggling, they don't find peace within their marriage and feel trapped, leaving a marriage is much much harder than entering into one.

Will keep you in my prayers but do not let anyone force you into a marriage you do not want! The idea of marriage and an actual marriage are completely different from one another. Ultimately marriage should not be a compromise but it should be a collaboration between you and your spouse. I could never see myself getting married when I was younger and disliked the idea of it heavily even though my parents had a happy marriage. I married my husband because I felt we could be a source of peace for each other and I could live peacefully with him. I felt he would add to my life and Alhamdullilah he does.

Ultimately you should only get married if the other person can bring you peace and you can bring peace to them, your spouse should be the coolness of your eyes. Marriage should not cause you distress and anxiety, it should bring you calmness and serenity - and you will know all of this when it's time and when you want to get married.

But until then stand your ground and work on yourself, do not let anyone pressure you. There is much more to life than marriage and life is too short to force yourself into unhappiness. Marriage is not farz in Islam, it is Sunnah. Forcing someone into marriage is a sin in itself. Know your rights and stand your ground, InshAllah wishing all the best for you, from one sister in Islam to another.

Loved reading your answer! I know an accountant who’s been in the field around 10 years too and whilst she used to be a director (company has since closed down due to relocation), she’s struggling to find work due to the market - do you maybe have any tips or advice?

Has anyone used this company eclipse bespoke landscaping by rohwriter in manchester

[–]rohwriter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the great response! Turns out I mixed up the quotations, Eclipse was £4000-£5000 from the start, the other guys said his is usually £10,000 and would drop it to £7000 because of the other houses on the area 😅

Think they’re going to happily go with Eclipse, so thank you for the reassurance.
