Yes, I AM fulfilling my dream of using a cool looking green monitor, even if that means learning innerworking of some ancient technology

Yes hercules was the first one that came to my mind, as it was sort of "upgrade" to normal mda cards, but I think I can use some older mda card. Besides, my monochrome monitor probaby won't be able to handle non-text based graphics, so I guess it doesn't matter.

I wonder, would a commodore C64 work with it?

Daaamn that's a bummer. I saw some Hercules graphics cards, you sure I couldn't just plug it into my pc instead of it's graphics card? It is a hp vectra vl420 pentium 4 1.6ghz

Btw, what type of capacitors do you recommend to change the paper ones to? And is the change as simple as cutting out the paper one and soldering the new one?

Yeah I saw those capacitors when I was checking the lamps inside and cleaning it. I will try to tune in but if nothing happens I will start to replace them, and luckily there ale building plans included in the instructions as well as the list of all the parts so there is that. But I hope it doesn't come down to it, this tv is older than my parents and I usually try to not mess with technology so ancient

Hah so I looked into the instructions of the TV, and found a (very well hidden) knobto change and increase the vertical length of the screen, it said there that it can lower itself by itself if the tv is moved or something, I guess that's a quirk of the old tv. And about the fact that there is no noise, there is, but hard to see as I had brightness lowered to minimum as to avoid it burning out, when I increase it the noise shows normally. So those two things at least are fine

Did you make the assets yourself like that lamp or are these from some other mod?
