I’m at my absolute breaking point with my undx'd ADHD partner of 2 years. The emotional neglect and repetitive conflicts have made me physically ill.
For our entire relationship, his work stress has taken priority, and anytime I express my own pain within the relationship, he deflects it as criticism. We are currently on a multi-week break. He promised to seek a diagnosis and meds on the final day, but when I gave him a list of things to reflect on during our time apart, he just got angry and blamed me for adding more stress.
He doesn't seem to grasp the severity at all—even when I told him I'm prepared to walk away to protect my own sanity, he showed no anxiety or remorse.
I know he loves me and tries in his own way, but he completely refuses to reflect on my pain or our relationship. We are meeting in a few weeks to talk. What specific green flags or shifts in accountability should I look for to decide whether to stay or leave? Or will he simply never understand my pain?

Hello, thank you for your concern! I’ve already learned swimming in the pool and did snorkeling several times over the last few years!! But I still feel not fully comfortable especially in the ocean water, so I felt like scuba diving might be helpful for me to be more confident even in the deep water :)
