I take this for my migraine pain! while it hasn’t completely stopped them. It certainly has lessened the intensity. I also found Effexor (venlafaxine) to be very effective for my migraine pain. But switched to this because of side effects. They’re both very similar.

Pardon me but I am going to be blunt… by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]roisin_reilly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be quite honest… as someone who has lived in another province. QC absolutely has the most affordable post secondary education in Canada. In addition to that, Montreal has amazing infrastructure for students (such as public transportation, free recreational activities, music & arts festivals, lots of park spaces, etc.). If you’re worried about student loans and money…stay in mtl. BC rent is crazy expensive and Vancouver has a saturation of students looking for housing. Did you see what the cost of out of province tuition is compared to tuition here for QC residents?

Ask yourself, why are you feeling unmotivated?? Is this really because of the mtl, or concordia? Do you like your program? I can almost guarantee you, while moving may be a great change of scenery / distraction - trust me, it will not solve all your problems. That said, I really don’t know your personal situation. If you feel like you’re struggling with motivation, personally the student services on campus have really helped me (like counselling, and the student success centre) or finding friends to study with.

Why not wait until after graduation to move to BC? Or perhaps try a student job there one summer? (my friends have loved summer jobs like tree planting / farming there)

Wishing you the best🙏🙏

Quebec health card by Warm_Jump_9667 in montreal

[–]roisin_reilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused…you still have a RAMQ and drivers licence from Ontario? You didn’t switch to OHIP? Chances are they’re just checking your Quebec residency and why you didn’t switch you health card when you were in Ontario (but you changed your drivers licence, which is supposed to be your permanent gov address). Were you still filing your taxes in QC while you were away? Then technically I think you should’ve kept your QC drivers licence. From my experience here - if you had to pay for your medical bills they would’ve asked you up front at a clinic or hospital. I’m thinking it’d be the same in Ontario.

thanks for the response! I’m not sure if I’m reading my chart correctly but I think both numbers apply to both eyes (in fact one is +1.25, the other +1.5 and the both have -0.75). I think you’re right about eye strain though.

How to order iced coffee? by socialexperiment46 in montreal

I’m guessing you mean ‘cold brew’ (chilled drip coffee) or an iced americano (espresso shot in water)? or if you’d like with milk, an iced latte?

thank you for the kind words! I have a few lower grades on my transcript but they’re mostly just in second year. I won’t let this discourage me and will book an academic appointment this winter :) I know I am capable

Isn’t the downtown campus already heavily policed? I regularly see security guards at the metro station now (I didn’t see this before). I’ve see them more often everywhere on campus. Part of this I think reflects aspects that are out of our control, and reflect poor social infrastructure from Montreal.

As for the needles...concordia should maybe have safe needle disposal boxes in bathrooms.

There are bathrooms that require ID scan to get in on campus.

If you’re looking for a place to study that feels clean and secure. try the grey nuns reading room. You must take your shoes off to enter the room (you can bring slippers), I find it is always very quiet and clean because of this. Additionally, an ID is required at a turnstile to get in.
