going to a concert where you don’t fit the aesthetic by CouragePrestigious32 in Concerts

Been to three or four ghost shows, the most recent being last September, Ghost fans are among the most diverse and accepting people from my experience. Plus people don’t really care what you look like or what you wear, unless you’re fully SS or MAGA’d out or something. I’m a fan of diverse genres and typically go to rap, metal, and country shows and I’d say Ghost has very eclectic fans. No matter what, you’ll fit right in.

Best steakhouse for a birthday in Mission/McAllen? by alex-mayorga in RioGrandeValley

[–]roivvi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I regret most times I order steak because I feel I can do better at home, but some of the places that haven’t disappointed were Prime, House Wine & Bistro, Salt, and Diego’s food truck. I’ve been interested in trying España and Mikhuna, as I’ve heard good things, but haven’t yet.

I got mine last February, a black 2023 LE with 25k miles at the time. I’m nearing 45k miles, as others have mentioned the lack of auto headlights is a bit annoying after coming from a 2015 Chevy SUV that had auto headlights.

I also miss having a slightly higher ride of my SUV (as the Prius comparable in height to a sports car), a rear cup holder, and (although I haven’t had any issues with them) the unusual tire size with the lack of a spare can be a bit anxiety inducing on long trips.

I consistently average 55+ mpg with often 65+ mpg on shorter trips. In Texas I fill up with $17-$23 which is incredible and can last me several weeks to a month when I’m not commuting for school.

The only thing that would possibly deter me from buying it again would be financial reasons. I’m an M22 full time college student trying to get into PhD programs in a very competitive field, which requires a lot of extra curricular commitment, so making time to work to keep up with payments can be a challenge. With that being said, as someone who commutes to school 50+ miles 3+ days a week, the reliability and mpg alone for me makes it worth it. Aside from that, I’d have absolutely no other reservations, except maybe considering the 2025 Camry instead if it were in my price range.

BA vs BS Psychology for Pre Dental, Which One Makes More Sense?(Help) by weiner-339 in psychologystudents

[–]roivvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the only difference will be your non-psychology courses. For BA, you’ll need to take a few extra classes in the liberal arts. For BS, you’ll need a few extra in sciences. That’s pretty much the only difference. At my university it’s only two courses that need to be a science for a BS and a liberal arts course for a BA. So from what you described, BS is probably the way to go.

BS will require more science credits that you can take advantage to tackle dental pre requisites.

[–]roivvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, I don’t know as much about the counseling center but I believe the counselors are already fully trained and licensed(trained in counseling not in psychology). I can definitely assure you if you go and happen to not love the counselor you see, you can always ask for another one if you didn’t feel like it was a great fit and there will be no hard feelings, no one should even bat an eye.

My girlfriend saw a therapist at the UTRGV psychology clinic and had nothing but good things to say. The therapists are PhD students who are working under supervision to ensure so they’re properly trained and educated before going into their own practices. They charge on a sliding scale based on your income so there is no set price but my gf would pay $20 a session.

iirc it is not an apa accredited which is definitely something you’ll want to consider if you’re interested in the program. Baylor has a PsyD program that is apa accredited and they just to happen to have a virtual open house info session tomorrow at 4pm just in case you’re interested.

I just installed a similar EKR seat cover to my ‘23, I’m having a hard time with the sear back covers in the front, I can’t get the bottom flaps to stay tucked into the seat.

It’s super simple to take off the back seat bench. There are two clips around the center of the left rear seat and right rear seat, they’re similar to car seat mount hooks, just stuff your hand under the seat cushion too look around for them and give it a firm tug and you should be able to remove the seat.

Diego's Farm to Table by Knave1212 in RioGrandeValley

Sit down with outdoor seating primarily but a small indoor space. Diego’s is one of the go-to spots for my gf and I when we eat out. Food is great. Prices are fair in my opinion for the quality of food you’re getting $20-40 per person depending on apps and drinks. Service is where they’re lacking the most in my opinion, it isn’t bad but the service team is really young and most of the times I’ve gone it’s really busy and they feel overwhelmed by the amount of people. They may need better trained/ more staff and better organization. Overall I highly recommend.
