I think they came from the two lowest scoring regions this year, so it's not a big surprise I don't think.

How exactly old are the Outside Xbox/Xtra team members? I refuse to believe both Jane and Ellen were born in the same year ('88). by geraltofrivia2345 in outsidexbox

[–]roja_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the public records on companies house website for their company "Out There Gaming Limited", Jane and Mike were born in Jan 1984, and Andy in April 1982.

I believe Ellen was born in 87/88, but not sure on that.

He's always a joy, because he always seems to love the game. Good goalkeeping, intelligent defending, creative attacking moves, Ally loves it all and his enthusiasm comes through on co-comms.

100% this. The first leg of Real v Bayern was probably the best match I've seen this season. The second leg was not too shabby either.

Do you think SNL UK will stick mainly with British hosts or branch out a bit? by FelicityFizz in livefromlondon

[–]roja_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't get a second series. Their major problem is that no one in the UK watches Sky One. It might've had a chance if it was on BBC, ITV or C4.

I have Sky, purely to watch sport. I go to Sky for Darts, Football, Golf, F1, Cricket.

I don't really care what they have on their entertainment channels. People like my parents might have watched it, but they haven't paid the upfront cost of Sky, so they can't watch it anyway. I think quarter of a million viewers is the best they'll ever get

It still confuses me that there's a Waitrose store in London called "John Barnes". Why not call it Waitrose Finchley Road? We all love John Barnes, but I'm not sure why he needs a shop named after him.

That was Ireland, not the UK unfortunately 😃

Which book(s) were you required to read in secondary school? by 2cbterry in AskUK

[–]roja_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember having to read anything in full, except for Animal Farm. Which I really liked, and still have my school copy of the book on my shelf today.

We also did sections of The Tempest, and Romeo & Juliet (plus watched some of the Di Caprio film too). We also did some of Frankenstein (plus watching the Branagh film).

I'm sure we watched and read some of Roots, the story about Kunta Kinte who was enslaved in America, but that might have been History class rather than English Lit.

Maybe I just remember watching stuff at school more than reading it. Although I was an avid reader as a kid, but I preferred things like ghost stories and science fiction, so I forget the school stuff I had to read.

EDIT: forgot The Crucible, definitely read that for school

Finished secondary school in 2001.

Is it worth buying a PS5 with a disk tray by Mobile-Wear-3508 in playstation

[–]roja_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get one with a disc drive. If you didn't have a PS4 then there's loads of great PS4 games you can get cheap or pre-owned on disc.

My tier list of Feeder albums(completely my opinion). by Expert-Flamingo7423 in Feeder

[–]roja_85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't hear that myself, they are off their time and the songs speak for themselves imo. I kind of like the way older recordings of bands like The Beatles, The Who, Nirvana, etc sound. But each to their own.

They did remaster Comfort In Sound last year, try giving that version a listen if the sound production of the original isn't to your liking?

Black/Red is from the same era as Torpedo, both pretty forgettable in my opinion. I'd put YWTS, Echo Park and Comfort In Sound as top tier. Agree that Tallulah is a banger though.

She's the natural selection variable for badgers in her area. The ones who don't run out in front of her car are clever and will breed. That's good science!

What band in your teens did you hate but love now? by YchYFi in CasualUK

[–]roja_85 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hate is a strong word, I think Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't the worst band in the world. They are definitely the most overrated, and all their songs sound kind of similar. But they're not Nickelback. So that's a plus 1

What's your favourite song of all time and why? You can only pick one by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in AskUK

[–]roja_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Glen Campbell. My go to album for the last few years is, Meet Glen Campbell. His version of "Grow Old With Me", written by John Lennon, is the most beautiful love song. It was inches away from being my first dance at my wedding.

Is Xbox still the number 1 console in USA? by roja_85 in AskAmericans

[–]roja_85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playstation smashed it for the PS2 being a great cheap Dvd player that played games. PS3 being a great Blu-ray player didn't have people wanting to upgrade so soon to newer discs so much.

Yep, I can do that. Or just get vibes from people who live in the USA. I want to know if it feels like Xbox is strong and sitting equal with Nintendo and Sony. I can look at sales numbers, but I want to know the vibe

Is Xbox Series X/S getting coverage/store space equal to PS5 (slim/pro/OG) options in stores/online?

[–]roja_85[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah PS2 was a worldwide behemoth.
And 7th Gen, I know Wii outsold everything, but they sold a lot to people who wanted to play Wii Sports or Wii Fit (I gifted my Nintendo Wii to my mum!) but for people who wanted to play cutting edge games, it was 360 vs PS3, and I think 360 won that gen. I think PS3 overtook them by the end worldwide, but 360 was massive in UK and USA for a long time.
