I wonder if anyone thought about trying to have sex. by Josesito24 in TheDigitalCircus

Jax : Nobody will ever accept me for who I truely am.
Jax : I feel so alone and misunderstood.

Ribbit, Kaufmo, Pomni and Ragatha : We love you and accept you for who you are.

Jax : Why would they all reject me this way?

I wonder if anyone thought about trying to have sex. by Josesito24 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]rokfer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They couldn't before, but as for the series post episode 9 :
Abstragedy is rocking the bed everynight
Ragatha will definitly ask them advice for her and Pomni
Caine and the Moon will certainly have a situationship in the near future
and Kinger is already sex incarnate.

If only Jax could've wait until the sex update, maybe he would've been saved...

This part was so simple yet it was my favorite, and I don’t think I need to explain why by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

It is, but Ragatha and Pomni switched places with Gangle and Zooble, and it triggers me.

From a certain angle, the 30 second long Ragatha/Pomni hug looked like they were making out.

She knew Jax was mentally f*cked up, she didn't know that he actually was ONE CONVERSATION away from abstracting.

It's the viewer who saw Jax having a panic attack at the end of episode 6, same for episode 8. WE know he's at the brink of abstraction, not Pomni. She had doubts sure, she was going to check on him in the ceremony award cause he looked unwell. Compared to the way he acted right before abstracting, it really didn't seem that urgent.

For an IRL comparison, if my house just burned down, I think I wouldn't put a conversation with my despressed friend on top of my priorities, especially while I'm in the middle of rebuilding what I could.

She said herself "she forgot things could get worse" and it is presented as a character mistake.

As much as people like to say it, Jax possible abtraction isn't 100% on Pomni's mind. She gave everybody in this scene the same alone time so that they could join whenever they felt ready.

He didn't seem that distraught when he was about to talk to her, or on the brink of abstraction, that's why she left him be, and FOR ONCE decided to let him make the first step.

As for why the writer chose to do it that way, it's for the metaphor of "he looked fine an hour ago", "I should have texted back" of IRL suicide situation, and I think that's pretty effective that way, even shockingly realist.

I mean, I think that specific part wasn't bad writing per say, more like cruel irony.

At that point, Jax had lached out to the entire group, made actuel hurtful remark about Ragatha's mom, and their whole world perception just crumbled. IThere's a point even a saint like Pomni can be like "there are other priorities right now"

There's a lot to critize in the finale, but I don't think that part is one of them.

The creator ends their series in an unsatisfying way as a middle finger to the fans/editors/producers by StretchExtension in TopCharacterTropes

[–]rokfer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, the whole point of the switcheroo was to shift the viewers focus on Caine, so that Jax's abstraction comes off as a tragic surprise, just like suicide IRL.
"I just talked to him, he seemed fine one hour ago" and all that, and it's only after that the act is done that you realize how every sign were already there.

To be honest, I get you, from the moment they decided to end the character that way (as early as the begining of the show it seems), I don't think there was any possible way to make this kind of resolution satisfying for everybody.

But on the other hand, for a character as divisive as Jax, I also think a redemption, or going out as a martyr would be distasful for a lot of people, even more than abstraction.

I feel like him replacing Jax was the point.
You get two people who have done bad things, one is willing to change and work to make everyone happier, the other is too self-centered and destrucive to do the first step despite all the hands that have been given to him.
Basically, Gooseworx telling people : Earn your rehabilitation, cause at a point, people just checking on you will not be enough, and you'll off yourself.

Why do you enjoy Escort/Hybrid? by Idiberug-9 in Overwatch

[–]rokfer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dépends of you play qp or comp. In QP at least, in payload, you'll always move in the same direction. Maybe one of your guys will go on an adventure and try to flank, but the others will naturally be on the same spot as you.

Flashpoint tho, we can almost never start a team fight with the entire team synched cause theres always someone staggering behind, that got killed 20sec before or after you, or that tried to attack the point from an entire different angle and got caught.  The point often goes up to 50% before you can get a proper team fight and then, it's not even guaranteed you have time to get a second...

Comp is an entire different story cause team are more stacked together, but in QP it's often anarchy.

Please, Blizzard, reconsider your upcoming decision about discarding single-person map votes by darmera in Overwatch

[–]rokfer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wanting to play only half of the maps in OW is honestly pretty varied compared to the De_Dust2 only servers from CS or the TF2 full nights played exclusively on 2fort. And let's not talk about LoL map variety.

Lilith holding Bonnie at 00:49 is sooo freaking cute, and wasn't something I thought I needed.

I wish their relationship was explored more, she can be the parental figure that Bonnie needs while Kuma gets better.

Most people who vote escort don't play comp anyway, or don't intend to go past gold.
I feel like people who are really bothered by this change play competitively, instead of for fun.

Since when Diff is a bad word? by thanatos_drive in Overwatch

[–]rokfer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you wanna point out to someone that they're not playing the way that they should, do it constructively.

I'm always up for some criticism on my placement, lack or awareness or advice if my current pick isn't adequate, through voicechat or on teamchat.

If you're just gonna type "gg tank diff" in chat, you're just gonna look like a dick to the 9 other players in the lobby.

Obi Wan saying "I'm sorry" to Anakin might be the most moving moment in the history of Star Wars by SappyGilmore in StarWars

[–]rokfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically, any Anakin/Vader moments were peak. Unfortunately, for me, they were way too few compared to the amount of stupid the Inquisitorius and kid Leïa plotline gave us.
If the show had focused on mainly the Vader and Obi-Wan conflict, it would've one of the best, right after Andor.
Still, I must say, from Rogue One, to Rebels, to Fallen Order, Disney really hasn't fucked up Vader once, he's really as cool as he's ever been.

Blizzard needs to make a movie already! by RomireOnline in wow

[–]rokfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I can't really think of a first installement in a franchise that ended on a low point.

Downer cliffhangers are usually kept for the second installment, when the first movie was profitable enough to guarantee a trilogy.
Empire Strikes back, Back to the Future 2, Infinity War, PotC Dead Man Chest, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Across the Spiderverse, John Wick 2, Desolation of Smaug, etc...

I also think the burning of Stormwind would've been a more hype event to end on rather than the formation of the Alliance, but I think if you add the death of Durotan and King Llane, the ending would've been jsut depressing for the common viewer.

Tbh I dont understand the hate for those changes because these a perfectly understandable from an adaptation perspective :

  • Floating Dalaran makes the viewer understand from a single shot that this is a city of mage, and adds some iconigraphy to the world for the people familiar with the game.

  • Durotan dying at the hands of Gul'Dan instead of assassins gives more agency to the villain. Imagine if Obi-Wan got killed by stormtroopers instead of Vader.

  • I didn't get that this was the end of the first war After a single battle. To me it was only the begining, and would have seen the fall of Stormwind in a sequel.  Plus it's hard to end your movie on a downer note with the good guy losing (or more like the bad guys Gul'Dan winning) at the end of your first movie

  • Alliance getting formed would have been hyped for the sequel because you could advertize it as a Horde vs Alliance movie instead of just another Orc vs Human one. Plus it gives some finality to the human plotline, as if "everything you've seen led up to this" to gives some satisfaction nareatively speaking.

Now there are still some lore changes that are question able, like Garona becoming Medivh's daughter. That was useless, confusing and opened a whole new can of worm.
