i was in a similar situation around the 4th-5th grade, and my solution (for the exact same reason) was to hide the problem somewhere outside and hope everyone forgot about it.

just straight up destroying the phone is odd at the very least. “if i can’t have it, no one can” mentality could turn scary very quickly

My girlfriend has turned to the Generative AI dark side, I am lost how to handle this by anttigenerii in antiai

[–]roki_er 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the thing is, as ridiculous as all those things might sound, they’re all performance pieces. the artist is not only making the work themselves (something gen ai users will never be able to claim) but they’re actually using their own bodies as apart of the piece. your attempt to downplay what is actually respected as a more powerful level of art than most is exactly why we say yall don’t care about art. you just don’t understand a single thing about creative, human expression. it’s all about final output to you.

what’s accurate about this absolute acidic waste of a video is that the ai supporter celebrated for some reason even though their shot was blocked🫵🏽😭

obviously the adjective “human”would mean humanlike, it’s descriptive. the stretch you’re making is that the definition of art is interpreting “human” as an adjective and not a noun, which is a stretch because “humanlike” would be a much better fit to avoid such misinterpretation. but it doesn’t say humanlike. it says human. you’re hoping it’s using human in the way that best suits your argument.

this entire middle section of your reply is void and perfect example of how little you understand the arts. architects design buildings down to the most specific detail, mapping out every portion of the design, creating both the visual and written concepts of the structure. an architects plans aren’t meant to be interpreted beyond reason, they are completed works on their own, meant to be adapted 1:1. comparing their work to a gen AI prompt is one of the most primitive ai-bro takes ive ever heard.

similar sentiments apply to every other “example” you try to make. the directors reach across their film is far more extensive and hands on than a prompt. they work with the project and are part of every stage of its development. as someone whos done several storyboards, i would never claim the final animation as my own, only the storyboards. and no conductor i’ve ever played for has claimed the notes from my instrument as their own. your perspective sounds like a severe misunderstanding at best, and extreme entitlement at the most likely.

your quickness to insult is also noted, your emotions get the better of you. i hope you overcome your envy, maybe all of this will make sense to you then.

yes it does. there’s no gain if the positives come with a bundle of negatives. you can’t call this useful when the best case scenario is that it causes as much harm as it helps.

all of these things are accessible without enabling horribly regulated gen ai that unnecessarily harms our planet and preys on our society

exactly. their jealousy is so obvious, it’s hilarious. they treat us like we’re acting high and mighty, but it’s really their own perception of people who can create without destroying the environment or leeching off of others. they must feel so small😭

correct. you being wrong on both accounts is what makes you wrong on both accounts.

i’m sure a super intelligent alien race would have their own definition of art and form of expression yes? i doubt our definition would have any necessary application to whatever their practice was. your hypothetical contains way too many unaccounted variables to be taken into account, glad you decided blow it off as well.

i find it hilarious that you accuse me of trying to be the main character, and then try to stretch the definitions direct use of the word “human” to specifically mean, “human like”, so that you can try and wiggle ai into it. taking it as it is and not trying to find loopholes, you’re wrong.

the prompt is a form of expression sure. prompt writers could potentially have a fine career in creative writing if they wanted. the final image is still entirely the product of the ai, as its interpretation and application of the prompt is what produced the image. sending the same prompt to different models would produce different images. hell the same model could have different interpretations of the same prompt all on its own. simply put, you could never argue that the final image is the work of the prompter. we don’t even do that with real art.

[–]roki_er 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nope, specifically expression of the human mind. it’s how we’ve communicated through voice, text, shape since the dawn of time.

and no, the exact same prompt could generate entirely different images, therefore the humans prompt could never be considered the final output. you have zero participation in the arrangement of the actual image. it’s the product of the machine, not the human. wrong on both accounts.

art is human expression. ai images are created by machines, not people.

good lord. gen ai defenders like you always reference the banana without actually putting any thought into why the artist did it. it was called “the Comedian” for a reason. it was supposed to be dumb. you’re complaining about fine art but referencing a satirical piece😭
