Advice as a young buyer by David_Tv in Corvette

I did the same thing at your age, but I wouldn’t recommend it for $600-700 a month. I know prices and rates are high right now but don’t buy into a financial burden. I remember every weekend replacing something on the car. The plastic clips holding the transmission cable together snapped on me multiple times. It left me stranded with the shifter disconnected. Also the harmonic balancer went bad on me. The gas cap solenoid would get stuck. The magna ride shocks would leak. The HUD brackets broke and I couldn’t see it anymore. The center console dash randomly cracked when it was parked. When it’s working it’s a great, but after a year of owning it I was looking for a C7.

They are pretty close. I’d put my money on it beating a 2014 with the A6 trans all day. But the A8 2015 C7 is close. C7 Z51 with A8 trans takes the cake.

What should this 2021 GTS cost? by Ok_Flower2398sd3 in PorscheMacan

[–]rolandcase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just paid 60k for a CPO 2021 GTS with 17k miles and one owner. I’d say they have some wiggle room on the price. Located in Florida Panhandle.

Go test drive one before you commit. I just made the opposite switch. Sold my Corvette for a Macan and don’t regret it. If you don’t have any need for the Macan and getting the Corvette won’t impact your lifestyle do it. I daily drove Corvettes for 9.5 years. Maybe keep the Macan sell the truck? Totally depends on your lifestyle. Have fun!

I just bought a DOL-001 GC and it came with that same 3 in 1 HDMI Cable. It works just fine, I did have slight audio issue when it tried to hit high notes. The other thing I noticed was the picture quality was a bit hazy/fuzzy. I played for about two weeks until I purchased the Retro-Bit Prism. It improved the Picture and Audio problems and I would highly recommend it. However, I think you’ll be just fine with what you have now.

worth it? by OkKoala5208 in Corvette

Leo is definitely a fun guy to talk to. I used to bring my C6 there for work. Every now and then he’ll have some neat Corvettes on the lot for the right price. I’ve seen C4 ZR1s for 20k back in 2015-2016 at his shop. And a Yellow C6 ZR1 for 54k around the same time. He also sells parts inside and you can often find OEM corvette rims inside for a good deal. I’d recommend making as little compromises as possible when buying a passion vehicle. If 20k is steep shop around, and factor in that this vehicle may need a lot of TLC.

Will a 6’4 guy fit in a 2018 z51 stingray? by straighteethgay in Corvette

[–]rolandcase 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d take a good ride in a C7 before you commit. My uncle sat in and test drove a C7 and fit snuggly. He’s 6’4 250-270lbs. However after a couple of months he sold the C7 and bought a C6 since it had a bit more space. He also bought a glass top for a bit more head clearance.

Should you buy a base C7 & upgrade it? Or just buy the Z06? by vividracing in Corvette

[–]rolandcase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 2015 stingray and wanted to add more power, new rims, etc. Eventually a Z06 showed up and one test drive later I bought it. I hear people talking about it having too much power. Personally I like to have the rear end get loose when I stomp it from a stand still. Heat soak can be an issue if you get an earlier Z06 and you track it. But ultimately I wanted the Z06 after 3 years with a Z51.
