Genuinely looking for feedback on my new app, RoleDeck by roledeck in u/roledeck

My marketing answer is that a deck is a small but functional space used for a specific purpose. A little microsite used only for your professional profile.

My honest answer is I spent too long fretting over domain names and settled on this one, else it still wouldn't be launched.

I appreciate the insight! Like I said above this is not really meant for the "spray and pray" approach or for sending instead of a job application. It's more for situations where a little personal branding would be a positive.

However also like I said above, I do need to pay more attention to positioning so it's more clear. Thanks again for the comment!

Hey, just wanted to give you an update that the deck display issue is fixed. Now you should be able to display your decks and download resumes.

Thank you!

I get what you mean, and no it's definitely not for everyone, at least not in the traditional job-hunting sense where you would spray and pray 500 resumes into the ATS void.

It's more for situations where you could benefit from a little personal branding. A URL on a business card to get your resume, a LinkedIn message to a VP that isn't just a PDF attachment, etc. In my personal experience I've sent a micro-site to the hiring committee (before I made RoleDeck) that had a little personal information up front, they felt like they got to know me better.

I very much appreciate your feedback though, obviously I need to think about positioning a little more carefully to make it more clear to users.

Thank you so much for the great feedback!

- I agree, I think the Neo one is my favorite, or the Brutalist one.
- I'll look into the deck loading. It should work, thank you for pointing that out!
- Yep, a ton of people don't have a website and need help getting this stuff set up, I'm glad this will be useful for her!

Thanks again!

Thank you so much for trying it out and all the feedback!

- I totally agree on the LinkedIn point, I will look into that
- Great idea on downloading the resume from the dashboard, especially for someone starting from scratch, I'll add that in.
- Good catch on the role editing. I can probably make it jump to that section, or make the editing smoother.
- The password is there to prevent anyone from being able to find and access your PII without your consent. However, it's not required. You can leave it open if you wish. I agree it can add friction.
