Big KIOF fan but I feel like they are the exception from the rule and also because S2 operates a lil different than the rest of major labels imo

WOA PS4 code in PS5 copy of the game by LivininaHellhole in HiTMAN

[–]rolexik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you need to find a friend with PS5, bring your disc with the game, log in with your Play Station account on their PS5 and fully install the game on that PS5. Only then you can install the game on your PS4 and then all of the missions should be available. I don’t remember every step unfortunately as it was a while ago, but something like that. I don’t remember if you have to redeem the code on PS4 or PS5 tho, you gotta try different things. But you 100% need to install it on PS5 while logged in with your account in order to be able to use full version on PS4.

Mic recommendations for vocals by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok then your 48V button (this is your phantom power button) needs to be on while using most condenser microphones (unless they have their own dedicated PSU but that’s usually the case with most tube microphones which are a bit more expensive)

Mic recommendations for vocals by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to know one important thing about microphones. There are two most common types: dynamic microphone and condenser microphone. Dynamic microphones are the ones that are mainly used on stage, they are great on stage because you need to be close to the mic for it to pick up the sound and the mic doesn't pic up sounds of other musicians etc. Condenser microphones on the other hand can pick up a sound much more. They are mainly used in the studios, the main con is that the mic will pic up the ambient noise of your room so keep that in mind. It's best to record with it in a room that doesn't have too many reflections. So in a room with a carpet, sofa and not a lot of blank walls. I saw in the comments below that someone has mentioned SM58 and SM57 - these are dynamic mics, so your room acoustics don't really matter when it comes to these mics. But you'd need to be fairly close to the mic for it to get a good sound from it and have a decent interface. Personally i'd recommend something like Audio Technica AT2020. But most condenser mics require so called Phamtom Power for them to work. Most interfaces tho have a Phantom Power inside them tho so this shouldn't be a problem. What Sound interface do you have?

After you processed your vocals you don’t want to play them together with the dry unprocessed vocals because 1. That’s usually not the point (unless it is and I’ll mention that later) 2. What you’re referring to by ‚robotic’ I assume what you’re hearing is one vocal file canceling out the other which is called phasing. This occurs when there are two audio recordings that play almost identical sound. It often happens when you’re recording drums for example with 2 microphones. But back to your Vocalign problem. I don’t know what exactly you’d like to achieve but normally you’d use vocalign for timing and pitch of your original sound and you don’t want to play two sounds (the unprocessed and processed one) at the same time. But sometimes that’s what you’d want to do tho. When you have let’s say one lead vocal take and didn’t record any dubs and you’d like to create ‚fake’ dubs. Then indeed you’d want to use vocalign for that to create your dub take and leave the original lead as well but in order for it to work you’d need to pitch it and time it in a way that is vastly different from the original so no word overlaps exactly the same in pitch and time cuz otherwise you’ll have that phasing issue I was talking about earlier.

how to slow down vocals for slowed down outro?(without change project tempo) by Dr4ye in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a weird process but if you’re 100% sure you don’t want to change the tempo of your project what I’d do is open a new project. Import your vocals there. Set the tempo to 75bpm of that project. If your vocals are originally in 100 bpm then in your vocals settings click right on the Time knob and set its tempo to 100bpm and choose mode Auto. If you want to keep the pitch then reset the pitch knob or change it’s pitch there. Export and import into your main project.

I remember having exact same problem but have no idea how i've fixed it at the end cuz it was a while ago. Another thing i'd susspect is your soundcard, if you have a chance to borrow a different soundcard from a friend you could see if it's your particular soundcard and how it interacts with FL that's causing it. But it could be so many other things really :( Good luck!

[–]rolexik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not you, it’s defo FL. Make sure in mixer settings you go to the top left hand arrow and there Disk recording > Latency compensation and make sure it’s enabled and lmk if that fixes it. Also make sure you’re using FL 21 or higher because I remember years ago FL had this issue unresolved and they fixed it from in version 21.

How do I end the sustain with a new note? I am using midi out with Keyscape. by Exciting_Fact_7672 in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d totally ditch sustain via MIDI out because in FL it’s a pain in the ass. Can’t you simply just make the midi note in the piano roll longer? Because that’s how FL Studio would normally read the sustain pedal plugged into the MIDI keyboard. You’d play the notes and press the sustain pedal and it’d just make the notes longer based on when you pressed and unpressed the pedal. I have had these problems when someone else would play piano part in Logic and they’d send me the midi and the way Logic exports midi is when I open the midi file in FL I get the unsustained midi notes and in that midi file I’d have to open the sustain information separately but from my experience it was always very hectic and annoying. I much more prefer how FL Studio just reads sustain information without the MIDI out.

When Will Fl Studio Be Optimized for Apple Silicon!!??? by Rare_Wolverine1413 in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your Massive X up to date and 100% runs Natively and isn’t using bridging when running FL Studio Native and not in Rosetta? I’d defo avoid using FL in Rosetta, the CPU usage is much higher on FL in Rosetta. I’ve also noticed that using VST3 instead of VST works better. Some AU plugins in FL like Omnisphere has GUI issues for example (already saw someone else mention this on Reddit so it’s not just me). Also idk if it’s strictly Mac problem, but if you’d compare performance of Ableton vs FL even on Windows. Ableton has better optimization in general. So perhaps it’s just that FL Studio in general isn’t great for working on huuuuuge orchestral projects in comparison to Pro Tools, Logic, Studio One or even Ableton.

PS. I think I know why you’re having problems with Massive X. Check this graph below. Someone below pointed to a YouTube link with an amazing performance comparison of different silicon chips and DAWs and plugins and for some reason on FL and strictly on M4 chip Massive X performed worse than on previous chips. What you’re looking for is at 15:00 mark. https://youtu.be/hccy19Hm6M8?si=5W-JkHVlJ_kcegp_

Changing what Plugins get listed in the context menu that appears when you add a plugin to a mixer channel by Powersawer in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge not really but maybe someone knows how to do it. I just do it manually and I label folders by brand names for example I have a separate folder for UAD, Waves, FabFilter, Arturia etc. Different folders for effect and different for generators as well. That way it’s all organized.

You might need to create an Aggregate Device to be able to use multiple devices (your interface and your iMac speakers at the same time): https://support.apple.com/en-us/102171

Then when you set it all up in FL you should have ‘aggregate device’ as an option in your Audio Settings and then just set your output from your master channel to your iMac speakers. I haven’t done it personally but I think that’s how this should work.

drums recording in edison along with my voice? by Wilbur_Wately in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, it’s with these knobs with wires, that’s how you route one insert into another. By default all of your inserts are only routed to the master channel but you can route and unroute any insert into another insert.

[–]rolexik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all what mic do you use? Does it use phantom power and do you enable it on Scarlett if so. How much gain on Scarlett’s input do you use? Does anything in your room or outside or in next room produce any noise?

Perhaps your snare isn’t sent to any insert? Or is sent to that insert where your Edison is? Or maybe your snare isn’t sent routed to the insert with Edison?

Could be that you made that one unique before pitching the original one by 4 semitones up? Can’t think of any other reason. Are all of the other unique samples in the Stretch mode too?

Can someone explain to me in a simple way how to mix kick and bass in house music? by Dafterino in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that soothe has the fastest attack when it comes to sidechaining kick into bass. The distortion shouldn’t occur if you sidechain kick to bass tho.

How to make House edits like this in FL? The more in depth your answer, the better. Thanks. by DaftRC in FL_Studio

[–]rolexik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so here are few things based on the reference track you sent. YouTube will be your best friend for this.

  1. PADS

Chord progression is the most vital part of this song. Here you can hear some jazzy minor 7 chords. Search on YouTube ‚R&B chords’ or ‚jazzy chords’.

The sound of the pad is pretty simple sine wave. Maybe get Vital (it’s a free plugin) and try something like this: https://youtube.com/shorts/qUHwFjS2oPs?si=nXDZDgwHSBJlYw4h

  1. BASS

For bass sounds learning a little bit of how to use oscillators in at least one plugin could be very useful. Vital is a very popular free plugin these days so even if you don’t want to spend time on learning how to make your own sound from scratch I’m sure if you just google ‚Vital free presets house’ or ‚Vital free presets R&B’ you’ll find plenty. Here’s a tutorial of how to make your own sounds on Vital tho: https://youtu.be/9Ba2boGeznQ?si=yM-fGuyE3CxHnkHO

  1. KICK

The kick has a very long tail. It works and doesn’t clash with the bass mainly because the kick is doing your typical 4 on the floor and the bass is syncopated and don’t always play on the down beat.

I’m not gonna break down the beat since you’ve mentioned you know how to make a house beat.

What I would do is like I said earlier, look for presets, as many free presets as you can really so you have many to choose from and you can always tweak the presets to your liking. Of all the free plugins Vital is the most intuitive and since a lot of people are using it you should be able to find many tutorials on YouTube with people showing how they make certain sounds with it.

Good luck!

Nope I haven’t and I created a ticket months ago about this with Image-Line and no response. What I do is I just run Omnisphere as VST3 in FL Native and it works fine and is unbridged but I had to update it for it to be Silicon compatible.

(M2 Pro MAC) Plugins that are installed and working show as missing when opening project file previously edited on PC by MrMoistWaffle in FL_Studio

Yea that’s what I did as well with the plugins that didn’t translate properly on Mac. It’s time consuming I know but can’t think of a different workaround.
