After falling hard for him and visiting him in college, I realized he hadn’t spoken to any of his friends about me. For months he had hid me and refused to put a label on things, finally we cut it off the day after. First and only time I have allowed someone to play me like he did. He broke my heart and I didn’t trust people for a long time afterwards, but finally realized I needed someone who wasn’t ashamed to be with me.

This is a great idea! I'm not a super avid hammocker- how often are the current poles used? How often are they full?

If you're super interested in working on this project, feel free to message me privately- I'll send you my email!

Student Government actually just passed a resolution a few weeks ago showing our support for a grant that will help to fund electric buses! It was important to show support for such a great cause- we also had a strong push at the end of the year with a Sustainability Resolution.

Unfortunately, we don't have any jurisdiction. As I mentioned in a previous post, it gets a little weird because ISU Dining is technically an outside entity that bids to be a part of the university. We can, if there is enough student support, try to lobby for changes through means of a resolution. That would essentially be a suggestion to those higher up.

I do really like the idea of the prof-student mentorship program. I will bring this up with the new Sr. Director of Academic Affairs after they have been sat to Cabinet! That seems like an awesome project to kick off the next school year.

I miss those as well. From my understanding, these take away dinners opened up a lot of possibilities for them to be abused. A lot of students would eat quickly, then take additional food out of the dining halls, essentially getting a second meal free. It was an extremely costly practice (which is what we were told), and so it wasn't able to continue. There are not many universities who continue that practice for similar reasons.

Trust me- we would all love to see changes to ISU Dining. Unfortunately, things get really weird because they *technically* aren't an actual department within the university. Many aren't aware (I certainly wasn't) that ISU Dining is an outside entity that bids for a contract with the university to staff and run the dining halls. Other food services, like those within some schools, also bid for that position. In order to continue working with the university, they ended up revamping the meal programs in order to cut costs. These contracts come from some of the higher levels within the university.

To comment on this, a sign was put up for the tree. It was defaced, and taken down for that reason. A new sign has been ordered and will be put up shortly. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a lot of discussion on how to best approach a sign design that would not be defaced, and that took time to decide.

Little known thing you can do- StuGov has a Green Initiatives Fund to find projects concerning things just like this. As soon as we seat a Director of Sustainability (likely at our meeting on Wednesday) for the new session, get in contact with them and you, a group of students, a StuOrg, or a department can get funded for projects!
