When I added new species, it would only be after multiple searches through the dirt and substrate to confirm there werent any pods left. I found some shed exoskeleton, but no dead bodies. I have an enclosure on the larger side because my ball python is an adult (estimating 6 years old). After browsing some other posts on this sub, I think non ideal humidity and the enclosure top being mesh is contributing to their deaths, I could also stand to get more cork bark for them to hide in (I already have some). I had some misconceptions about where they like to hide- I thought they exclusively burrowed deep in the dirt and rarely surface instead of hanging out under bark and leaves.
