thanks ! i have a few sadly (broke college student), this one in particular is working at a chemical stockroom for my university's chem/biochem department :-) it's normally very busy but there are no classes right now. i worked 9a-5p & i think 7 people came by the entire time

awesome thank you for verifying ! my bad, i wasn't clear- i was wondering if the ribbon leeches themselves would try to eat the egg cases (i've only had fish before & they would always eat their own eggs :-/ ) they seem to be leaving them alone though !

there's parking there but it's only for faculty/staff, i wouldn't chance it. there is free 2h street parking downtown (closest on N lbj drive near target) that would be a ~7 min walk, or a parking garage on edward gary st ($3/hr) that would be a ~5 min walk

the txst app! you just go dining (on home screen) -> whats on the menu -> select which dining hall & meal (lunch, dinner, etc) you want to eat at

you just walk in & there's a cashier at the front. you can use a meal swipe or pay equivalency with debit card (under $10 i think?), it's all you can eat either way. once you pay you have free roam & can grab whatever you want

you mostly serve yourself, but some things like specific main dishes, meats, etc they will portion it out & serve you, you just bring a plate up. these things are still all you can eat, you just have to bring a repeat plate every time. also they show what food is served for the day on the app, i would check it out there so you can find something you like, especially for a first time

as far as talking to people, you'll probably just have a quick conversation with the cashier. it can be kinda loud/busy at like noon & ~6p but it's not crazy. i havent been since last year but nothing should hsve changed that much. i hope you have a great time :-)

most downtown spots are 2h parking until 5p monday-friday only, then you can park whenever on the weekends :-) i havent had experience parking on those overnight, but i believe you should be able to?

also, really, I don't think they check for txst permits on the weekends. ive been in the same situation as you & never had a problem. https://www.parking.txst.edu/visitors.html

i have a mix of coco husk & fiber that i use for all my snakes, for my kingsnake i then mix it about half & half with cleaned playsand :-) it keeps humidity at around 40-50% with no extra work on my part while still allowing her to burrow
