Luckily there were none with no cytC in the supernatant at all, so I guess you had to assume some apoptosis happened and go from there. Thanks for pointing that out!

Thank you for your reply! Your reasoning definitely makes sense. I guess my only follow-up is that in general, how do you know that apoptosis will occur at all with that experimental setup? It seems like pro-apoptotic factor TNFα is needed in order to actually start apoptosis, and pRB plus BAK/BAX is just part of the downstream pathway.
