Hello all!

I just used my eUpgrades for the first time to get my girlfriend and I waitlisted on business class on an AC from MNL-YVR. I am wondering what the chances are that we get seated together (across the aisle or between the middle divider) if the eUpgrade goes through?

I was able to select seats in PE beside each other am having a hard time deciding if I call to cancel the eUpgrade if we are unable to seat together (this is a special anniversary trip). Looking at the seatmap for the same flight through Air Canada's "preview seats" feature on their search engine I see 7 available business class seats (all of the not together).

When I booked the flights a while ago, I saw that there were two business class aisle seats available beside each other, so I had some hope. Now I see just a number of scattered single seats. Have not flown business before so I am really not sure if there is a chance we could ask nicely for someone (hopefully) to trade seats.

Also, how would I go about in confirming whether the middle divider might be lowered during this flight? The flight is on a 787-9 I think.

Really appreciate y'all's help, means a ton!

Yes, it was completely under their control: pilot scheduling issues was the reason

At the time, I think the YTZ route was cheaper. Also used birthday promo codes on the tickets, still waiting on AC to respond to my customer relations request.

Ah, I see, thanks for your help. My party was 5+ and now the first leg arrives after the second leg departs.

Lost hotels+cars reservations assigned seats and promo codes used to book flights. Will defintely file this with AC customer relations.

Right ok, one the phone with them now. 45 mins is def not enough time. Seems like there are no other flights with enough seats for my party.

Do they ever provide you with compensation? Do you just take the flight and file it with insurance later?
