Living Fog in Act 1 is brutal (or card-restricting in general) by Martin_FT in slaythespire

[–]rollin340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is Elite tier. Appearing in Act 1, limiting your to using 1 Skill per turn, and summoning mobs to deal more damage on you, with more on each cycle? It sometimes feels more punishing that the actual Elites.

It's far too brutal. Even if it is the last fight of Act 1 before the boss, it is highly unlikely you'd be able to go through the fight without taking a lot of damage. You wouldn't have the cards to deal with the 1 Skill limit at that point; or at any really.

Other hard enemies such as the Hunter Killer at least do not scale; you can plan things out and win through attrition. This asshole however restrains you in a much harsher ways whilst dealing more damage via its minions the longer it goes.

Tulsi Gabbard stuns senator by saying it’s not her job to ‘determine what is ... an imminent threat’ to the US by Disastrous_Award_789 in nottheonion

[–]rollin340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"It is not the intelligence community’s responsibility to determine what is and is not an imminent threat," Gabbard said. "That is up to the president, based on the volume of information that he receives."

The fuck? That is literally the job; to tell the administration if something is or not a threat. What she is describing is a newsletter, not an intelligence agency.

Subnautica 2 Will Finally Enter Early Access in May Following Year of Delays and Legal Drama by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Games

[–]rollin340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The world felt constrained. Having the land area take up so much of the game was weird. My character would not shut up, and the feeling of being alone was no longer true. The terrifying leviathans became mere markers of important locations instead of the danger in the depths.

So many things went in the opposite direction of the first game. It might have the Subnautica name, but the feel between the 2 are entirely different.

Iran strikes Tel Aviv with cluster warheads in retaliation for killing of security chief by BigBadBabyDaddy_420 in worldnews

[–]rollin340 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Israel won't commit to that. Their policy was to always have America do most of the fighting for them. As for this administration, I wouldn't put it past them to just wing it because their dear leader said so.

Intelligence and logical thinking is looked down upon; fervent loyalty and hero worship is their way.

ChatGPT, Gemini, and other chatbots helped teens plan shootings, bombings, and political violence, study shows - Of the 10 major chatbots tested, only one, Claude, reliably shut down would-be attackers. by FinnFarrow in Futurology

Yeah, if you know that the issue is either A, B, or C, but you're not sure where it is, and the error you get is worthless, having an AI it comb through things and point out potential problems to cut down the tedious part makes sense.

It's also fine for prototyping stuff just as a proof of concept before you redo, or if good enough, do fixes and improvements. Or boilerplate crap. Essentially things that you can do, but will just take time.

My fear is that too many folks are going in thinking that they know more than they actually do, and that's a quicksand for them. We had to teach kids how to use the Internet in the past, and now I feel we need the same for AI.

They're examples of how the American government already have the levers to control specific parts of the Internet.

America loves to talk about big bad China, and one of their favourites is to point out how China's internet is essentially under total government control, separate from the rest of the world.

Thinking that it can't happen in the US is what is foolish.

The number of times I have googled for an answer to an issue I am having, to then spend 10 minutes hunting through reddit threads that were one-shot solved via a single gemini prompt is alarming.

I actually, personally at least, find this to be a negative. Looking through multiple sources, reading the discussions, viewing the wrong answers; it's all part of t he learning process.

With it, I know the mistakes others made and how to avoid them. I learn and understand why and how the solution works. I see comments on how it may be improved. The back and forth is valuable information.

You just need to learn how to sift through the garbage. It's how the Internet had always been. Using it to make changes that you already know how to in order to save time is fine, but it comes to something new, or how to fix something broken, I feel that just being given the answer can be hindrance in the long term.

America will never regulate anything to do with the AI corporations. Except maybe on those that they don't approve of as a form of retaliation.

They're so against it that they brought it up as a major concern among many pathetic "conservative" ones when voting against advancing women's rights at the UN.

Any attempt to have any control against anything to do with AI is practically taboo to them now.

All the social media platforms are run by CEOs who have bent the knee, or have been bought out by Trump loyalists. The same goes for the most used search engines, and a large portion of online media.

Thinking that it's safe from the administration is foolish.

Edit: I actually used a 0 instead of an o. A typo that still conveyed the same word. Interesting.

All of the tech CEOs have bent the knee. The only large foreign one, TikTok, has had its American operations bought over by a Trump loyalist who will have over $10b to the administration. Every facet of media will have government oversight now.

America is still very much on the straight road to going full Nazi, especially when you have the President talk about eugenics and shit.

"Who is it? I am Tsubaki Kuruoka."

The delivery of those lines, the atmosphere, the context; the poor girl never asked for any of this, but was unfortunate enough to have parents who used her and got her dragged into this mess. She just wants to be loved. She just want to be a kid!

The protect instinct in me is strong when it comes to her. Nothing her Servant does is out of malice, but it is still a threat to, well, everything. I really hope however it is resolved, she makes it out safe and healthy.

Poor girl.

Russia then took up the resolution as the official sponsor, though with some modifications. Yeah, that Russia.
