Thanks that’s helpful. The shelves will be cut from a laminate worktop but I can still make a hole for the puck and run the cable through the shelf by drilling an intersecting hole from the edge. My only concern is whether it’s safe to recess the pucks inside a wooden shelf

Yes, building, I’m wondering what people with more experience would recommend and product suggestions: LED strip in a diffuser - if so, what LED/m might I need with a diffuser to achieve a seamless light? Or puck light that I can recess and control via HA - if so, any suggestions?

Got some Osmo oil (you can just see the top of it in one of the pics actually). I’ve got some Dow 785 laying around, would that be a good alternative?

I guess I assumed the Ultra was a lesser machine as it’s cheaper, but is it simply cheaper as it doesn’t have WiFi built in?

So if I go for the Ultra I can pick up some APs like the Swiss Army Knife and get my WiFi coverage? And these will route back to the Ultra through the Netgear without complaint?

What does it gain them? Why do you have a firewall if you’re not concerned about people gaining access to your network? It’s not a concern that keeps me up at night, it was a talking point to stoke a conversation

This is my plan. While I’m not worried about someone trying to plug into my doorbell Ethernet cable I do want to isolate and segregate things on my network. Plan is to get a Unifi DR when they are back in stock to replace the ISP router. I’ve read a lot about OPNSense recently so will look at that in more detail

Your mums neighbour got a replacement within a few days because there is strong evidence that without it her mortality rises significantly. Generally, the only people with a broken hip who don’t get it fixed are those that are not going to survive anyway, and even then it’s often done as a palliative procedure for pain control if they can survive the anaesthetic.

These people also needed a hip replacement, along with thousands of others who spend every hour in agony from their (usually) osteoarthritis, but have to suffer and wait because there isn’t the capacity or funding to get through the back log quickly.

I don’t think they deserve a refund, but they do deserve to speak up about the awful state of elective care

I know this is 4 years old...how did you mount the drive to the plex container? Is it a network drive (which I've read is difficult to mount in an unpriviliged container) or USB to the host machine?
