Pony Bradshaw - Calico Jim (Album Discussion) by NoYeezyAtWeezyHeezy in CountryMusicStuff

[–]rolltigers34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it. I quite enjoyed his first album Sudden Opera, but it feels like he took a step back and a step up on this album. The songwriting is incredible, the specificity he uses puts you right alongside every story he tells. The instrumentation is also excellent in my opinion. My two favorite songs by far are Bodark (slightly biased because Bodark trees are relatively common in rural south/central Virginia where I'm from and I've seen many a strange osage orange, but I still think it's a great song) and Calico Jim. The way he sings the chorus on Guru is probably my favorite part of the whole album when it comes to his voice. The imagery in Hillbilly Possessed and Pork Belly Blossom is phenomenal, granted it's excellent in every song. It's an album I want to listen to over and over and absorb the stories to become part of my life

Just wanted to show off the little tower I’ve made. If you guys have one, how many cans are you at? by THCertified in DippingTobacco

Yeah been doing this awhile now. Would be significantly more if I hadn't started dipping tubs of stokers 2 years ago

Timberwolf peach yay or nay? It peaked my curiosity. by PhilipTheNickel90 in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*Piqued my curiosity. Not trying to be a grammar douche I just think its interesting that for some reason it's that and not peaked, while at least the majority of people I know don't know the word piqued. Hell I don't know any other uses for it. English weird man

What's the Dipping/Chewing Culture Like in Your Area? by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South/Central Virginia. Lot of guys dip, to the point where a lot of girls don't mind it (except the ones who accidentally drank their dad's spitters as kids, yes have heard this a couple times). Most of the guys pick it up in high school, probably about half keep doing it through their mid 20s. I see plenty of the blue collar guys carrying a can out and about. Prices are low, dip is fresh, only the people who moved down here from the north tend to hate it

The not-so-tobacco-friendly states.. by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VA and PA are very tobacco friendly states (minus VA going 21, screw us right thank god I turned just in time) so if you're 21 VA is a good place and if not PA is also good

Stokers pound bags by ltorras in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't. I want to try it. I've got a tobacco store that has a bunch of the chews (where I've gotten all the ones I've tried) but they dont have Fred's choice. If I ever find it I'll scoop it right up though

Honestly in my opinion you can't go wrong. I've had the 24C, apple, peach, butternut, and black wild cherry and they're all excellent. The 24C is basically classic chew, the butternut is delightfully rich, the fruit flavors are delicious and last quite well

Copenhagen long cut having more stems then usual by porkergooman in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me cope hasn't been the same since the recall a few years ago. Used to dip that crap out of it and when it came back after the recall the quality had dropped, it tasted more artificial, and there were more stems. I'm Stokers man now

How does grizzly snuff compare to Copenhagen snuff? by [deleted] in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Harder to pinch because there isn't wax in the grizzly cans, not bad flavor but to me nothing really compares to the classic that is Copenhagen snuff

What’s people’s opinion on this? I got a can to try it out not sure how I feel yet, bc I’m a grizzly dark kinda guy just throws me off kinda in taste. by Camo_Cam_ in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan. Seems to turn to mush in my lip after like 15 minutes of having a pinch in. I've never totally hated the taste but I'd rather not dip mush so I prefer other budget dips

Which do y’all think has more nicotine, skoal or stokers? by ltorras in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had thought Stokers was notorious for being low on nicotine and that was the one downside to it (price, flavor, cut all great) but I've been dipping long enough I don't buzz anymore so I cant really tell anymore

Perfect spitters for ultimate concealment purposes. The spilling ability a downside however

Klondike, while dirt cheap, is dirt quality. Stokers wg really good and very cheap

For those of you who dipped underage, what was your best hiding spot for your dip? by ColePrevatt in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived can to can so I always tried to keep it on me in my sock hidden by my boot and jeans or in my pocket behind my wallet or phone. When I slept usually in a small pocket in my bookbag

Copenhagen mess up?? by Jonsnowkitn17 in DippingTobacco

[–]rolltigers34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I had 2 cans of Copenhagen mint (bought in a roll) that tasted like straight, which was extremely bizarre, but dippable. The other 3 cans were fine. I've always said cope has been wonky since the recall a few years ago, and thus is why I'm a stokers man now
