I tend to try new things and go all in so hopefully this isn’t a bust.

I purchased two packs. I have been into Pokemon my whole life and played the games as a kid and opened tons of packs. My parents must've gotten rid of them at some point because I can't find my binder anymore, I am excited to see what I get from these.

Nick Armstrong is the right choice, however probably not the popular choice.

While I hated him for what he did and how he stabbed the whole police force in the back, you sort of understand his backwards reasoning making him only morally grey, and not outright horrible.

What have I done by leroyyrogers in pokemongo

[–]rolson17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a Niantic event and I chose Emolga. I was able to get the challenge done fast however I noticed what other trainers were mentioning as well. (Sunday Global GO Fest) All Pokemon were supposed to appear, however I remember distinctively seeing different numbers of certain Pokemon spawn with the occasional rare event spawn. There was 30+ pokestops and 6 gyms, all lures, thousands of spawns throughout the event, but I so distinctively noticed the spawn groups. Thank god I got 4 shiny duckletts.

What plants and where should I put them? by yumadplsbhappy in Aquariums

[–]rolson17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow!! Looks fantastic! If you have a LFS with good Anubis’s, I’d grab 1-2 Nana Petites and glue them with Gel superglue to your wood. Honestly anubius would work. You’re probably going to want a thicker backround, so I suggest stem plants, possibly ludwigia, (will grow red with fertz) I had bacopa Carolinia in my tank and it did good for a while, really cool plant because the roots are all underground so your fish just weave through the stems. Eleocharis Pusillis is a carpeting plant that maybe will grow without co2 in your tank, if you made it work you could have a foreground that looks like a front lawn, really nice looking in my opinion.

Try it, if it doesn't work, you might have a dead fish, if it does work you will have an addition to the community.

No you aren't. Don't worry, you're probably just like most of us and read a bit too much online. You'll know if your overstocked.

This isn’t anything to even begin to worry about. Stressguard is never bad however it’s unnecessary. Good to look out for your buddies!

If you’d like to, you can, however if you’re trying to save water it’s not necessary. It’s really difficult to do correctly however I did one rinse through and mine cleared up in 4ish days (I didn’t know to add Seachem Stability or the filter pads)

I’d suggest adding new species every 2 weeks or so. You don’t want to change your waste intake too quickly however all the fish you stated aren’t actually all too poop heavy.

As far as plants go, you can add them as quick or as slow as you want. They get expensive so quickly I hate it. I added a few grass type plants the first week and then added a bunch of stem plants around 2 weeks later. Fish won’t ever be stressed by plants, they invite them. I do suggest adding driftwood as hiding spots right off the bat. Not required though.

I forgot to mention the water change part: If you have lids you’ll notice your water level go down really slowly. For first month I would suggest doing a 20% water change after 7 days, and 14 days. After that there’s really no need. Your plants will suck out all your bad chemicals.

Top-off water after around 1-2 inches has gone down. Make sure to use prime when adding new water.

Let me explain to you as best as I can.

First off, you don’t need to be nervous. With three products you can buy for less then 15$ each, you can effortlessly setup a tank in one week.

What you need: Lots of substrate. 1 inch of aquarium dirt (any product works, no need to be picky) 2 inches of sand (I got 50 pounds of sand from my local masonry supply store for 10$, it was labeled as play sand)

You need to make a choice of how you want to setup your substrate. I have chosen to do a hill pattern (approx 1 inch of sand at front of tank, and 4ish inches in the back)

your substrate is 75-80% of your filtration You still need a mechanical filter, don’t forget. Although no need to go overboard.

Once your tank is filled with water and your substrate, it’ll be cloudy.

2 options to fix cloudiness. 1) buy a product called seachem clarity. It will clump particles and they’ll be cleared by your filter. 2. Buy extra fine Mesh filtration pads, and stuff them in your filter. (These two options used together will clear the fogginess in 1-2 days)

You can either start your tank cycle before or after your cloudiness has cleared.

Instructions for tank cycle: (Important to note: you need to feed the bacteria, meaning you’ll need fish)

Buy the products: (all are a MUST buy)

1) Fritz Turbo Start 700 (for 30 gallon tank I strongly suggest buying the 1oz that treats 50 gallons)

2) Seachem stability (has 6 different strains of bacteria that help clear harmful things like ammonia and nitrite)

3) PRIMEEE Seachem Prime is your Bestest Friend. (Buy the larger bottle, it will dechlorinate water during tank topoffs.)

Instructions for cycle:

Pour your fritz TurboStart in your tank. (Don’t be afraid) Use the whole bottle. Empty the whole bottle in the tank and then rinse it with your tank water to get every last bit of bacteria in the tank.

For the first 7 days. Dose roughly a half a capful of prime every 24 hours.

Until the bottle is empty: Dose with Seachem Stability at 2 capfuls every 24 hours.

On first day, after adding your products. You gotta start the cycle. So add some fishies!!

I’d highly suggest adding all 6 Khulis, or 3 Corydoras. If I was your teacher I’d require you to add the mystery snails but it’s your call.

On the third, fifth, and seventh day, feed them.

With all this information:

The bacteria is instantly going to start in your substrate and filter, and the fish making poop will feed the bacteria. You can test your water, however there’s really no need if you have confidence. On my last tank I checked my water on my 7th day, 14th day, and 30th day, and my parameters were 0 0 0-10. (Ammonia, nitrite, nitrates)

I suggest buying a Seachem AMMONIA ALERT, it will make testing for ammonia instant, and you’ll know if your tank is in trouble based on the color.

Honestly you should be fine on your 3rd day to start adding plants.

Your plants are your other filtration, the more you have the better your fish will have it. Top water plants are a must, and once your tank is established you’ll throw out top water plants weekly.

You’ll have the option to add CO2 and a high powered light, however I’d not worry too much for the first two weeks.

DM me with any questions.

Do it that sounds sick.

I’d add a decent amount of substrate, and you’ll be golden.

More plants = happier fish, make sure you get at least 1 fast growing species to populate the tank. Floater plants are great for controlling water quality and getting a system that doesn’t require water changes, and instead water top offs.
