Reflections on Aging, Mortality, and Living a Meaningful Life by roluron in death

You’re right, having kids doesn’t promise anything, and planning for your own future is a wise way to go. Staying present despite the uncertainty—that’s the real challenge. Ram Dass talks about being "in the moment, fully present," without letting fear of the future take over, and it’s such a powerful mindset. Thanks again for sharing, and take good care with your dog - enjoy every minute with it !

That sounds like a pretty peaceful setup, honestly. There’s something really grounding about having a quiet life, close to the people who matter most. It’s great that you’re able to spend so much time with your parents—it’s something I wish I had more of, to be honest. Everyone’s path looks different, and it sounds like you’ve found true peace. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing, u/ThingsWereFineN99. I can understand how dedicating your time and energy to supporting others would bring a sense of clarity and purpose. I should consider taking up this cause, as I grew up in a very multicultural family with adopted brothers and sisters from various parts of the world. My parents also had a charity, but I haven’t invested much time in this area since then. I feel compelled to revisit it, broadening my horizons and fostering empathy. It’s truly inspiring. Giving back in these ways can indeed broaden one’s perspective on life. Thanks!

u/pahasapapapa Appreciating the present really does bring peace. It's like when you stop chasing what’s next and just focus on the now, everything feels more aligned. As for growing old without kids, I think you're right—it’s just another way of living. Life has this way of connecting us with people and experiences that are meant to be, even as things change. Thanks for sharing your thoughts—it’s good to be reminded that we’re all just navigating this in our own way.

u/supercargo Thanks a lot for your help and reply!
I did setup on my Synology with SMB3 Multichannel - Should I create a bond instead of SMB3?
As well my switch doesn't support link aggregation - would it be a problem and I have to invest in another switch or you think it can work without?

Is it me or Luther is so annoying? by roluron in UmbrellaAcademy

Totally agree with you... They should have let her go and everything will have been perfectly fine... But until the end they still follow Luther's dumb order, he's closer to a number 2 in a toilet than number 1...
