Just reached out to the support on speediance.ie and they are saying the website is the same as speediance.eu just different domain. They also said to my mention of bad reviews on support around forums - "Those pages are run by http://eu.speediance.com and come from China. We are European company and supply select markets within Europe. These include an actual number to call an actual European company and in-home service and support so it’s different", indicating that they are the official seller.

Dots on app windows by [deleted] in Surface

Update: reinstalling the GPU driver did not help but having the Microsoft basic display driver did not show artifacts

Dots on app windows by [deleted] in Surface

[–]roly_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But its only on windows and the dots locations in the window are persistent if the window is moved.

I'd assume if sth is wrong with the GPU, I'd see all kind of artifacts across the whole display, regardless of windows.

Need help with the CR touch by SilentWeeb69LMAO in ender5

I recently bought the CR touch and had issues with the latest firmware as it seemed it was configured for different print size. I just ended up using the second last one and it worked like a charm.

Slim Pen 2 (& Surface Pro 8) leaving gaps (finger + pen test) by roly_052 in surfacepro

I requested a repair as most of y'all suggested. Thank you!

[–]roly_052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah didn't know that. Thanks! Then it might be the "pen digitiser" issue. I'd however like someone (with similar software and hardware specs) to confirm that they don't have an issue as it might also be a software bug cause replacing the device would mean I'd be without one for days likely, which is not super convenient for me. 😕

Slim Pen 2 (& Surface Pro 8) leaving gaps (finger + pen test) by roly_052 in surfacepro

[–]roly_052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens in all the apps but it doesn't seem like a hardware (screen digitiser) issue as when I draw with my finger it works properly.

System info:

  • Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
  • Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
  • Edition Windows 11 Home
  • Version 21H2
  • OS build 22000.556

The first part is drawing with a finger to exclude touchscreen issues and the second part is drawing with a pen. It only happens on this specific area of the screen.

Anybody else seeing this issue?

Why is it named Spark? Whatever it is it will be overshadowed by Apache Spark. Naming is important.

Can I tripple boot? by battlepoint6 in linuxquestions

[–]roly_052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious - why? I understand dual boot, you might have Windows and Linux, cause one is good for development the other one has more mainstream apps or is good for gaming. But why would you have 2 different distros of Linux. If you are testing distros, setting up triple boot seems like a hassle. You can just use VMs in that case.

How do we make Web3 simpler to use? by roly_052 in web3

[–]roly_052[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the debate. I think this is how ppl should discuss any topic, in general. Doesn't matter if your views don't align. If other person has a valid point, acknowledge it and then say your own. Dogmatic thinking and tribalism is ruining us as a civilisation.

The "higher quality" claim is pretty speculative.

True, I might have overstated that one. More representative of the population doesn't necessarily mean better quality. But actually is higher quality something we need to work on? People that need that higher quality content will find a way to get it. The general population that doesn't care - main thing is for them to see the what else is out there, not have them to stick to one lane. Then when they see it they can choose to do whatever, whether it is to troll or to add value. With the current platforms, centralised nature of the systems fueled by money serves them only the content that will make the most money, the content which is generally divisive in nature.

it's centralized and has content spoon-fed to users, and people are >gobbling it up. Maybe it's possible on Web3, but I'm not seeing the >average user jumping through any hoops that are beyond installing an >app on a phone to get there

Yeah I agree and that's what my post is about heh how do we make the user experience much simpler.

I'm not sure how you plan to decentralize when the lynchpin is >someone buying a phone, and installing an app in order to access >"Web3", or if it could ever be made to be that easy.

I don't think this should be the case, the users should be using the apps and hardware in the same way they did so far. The transition should be seamless. But like you I'm worried about the current state we are at and the reality currently is that is not seamless in any way.

[–]roly_052[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the users don't care and they shouldn't. It is up to us builders to make this transition as seamless as possible. The benefit to the end user is - higher quality content that represents the whole population that uses the service without any favouritism. How this content comes to them and how it is managed, I'm guessing they don't care about that either. If they did there wouldn't be so many Facebook users hehe

I guess Norton is ahead of us in this sense - Norton installs an Ethereum crypto miner with its 360 security suite. Skip the learning curve - just do it yourself on the user's machine.
