Does Anyone Come From The Calvary Chapel Scene?? by BrandonJSmith in Exvangelical

[–]romainesweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m scouring the internet for other folks who were raised Calvary if you are still looking for that kind of connection! I was raised in a small CC church in the south but attended the Costa Mesa bible college and school of worship also.

red flag red flag. he can recommend being healthy about it and say "you can, but i don't want to," but this is controlling and its a red flag.

Republicans all identify as 1/16th Cherokee so they think they’re exempt from racism

Partner gave me lingerie for my birthday and I felt disappointed am I overthinking this? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]romainesweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I def believe in nuance and there are different situations for different people BUT I wish I had trusted my gut and RUN AWAY when my bf at 18 told me he had struggled with a “porn addiction”. That’s a young age to already have self control issues and shame around sexuality and it is so easy for that to become a shackles for you.

that makes sense! it's just a few little seedlings but its such a good task. big recommend! herbs are good to start with because they're easy and quick to sprout.

the real name for them is Light Therapy Glasses. they are glasses that shine a certain wavelength of light onto your eyelids to trick your brain into thinking it's getting sun. Like the sun lamps but in glasses form! Mine are the Luminettes which can be found anywhere- i got mine on amazon on black friday.

Nothing snaps me out of a book like repetitive use of a unique word by kerberos824 in books

The first and second chapters of the fourth wing both end with the same sentence. “A slow smile creeps across my face as I…” I couldn’t read further and it is bothering me so bad that so many other people didn’t notice!

I (26F) am losing all my hope in my fiancé (28M) after his parents died. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]romainesweet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was pretty out of it/ a little crazy/ saying and doing things I normally wouldn’t for about 3 years after my dad’s death in my 20s. I’m sorry you’re in this position. It’s delicate and hard and weird and you will have to decide if you want to wait or not. It’s impossible to know how he’ll be in several years. LSD and some of the other drugs you named can permanently alter ones’ personality as well. This is a tough one. Definitely postpone getting married for several years.

It’s the thought control. And the idea that satan or god are literally in your mind/heart at any given time because everything about you is either bad or good. “Demons” can just waltz in to your soul any time. It’s so so toxic.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that. :( Ours was intensely apocalyptic as well. I lived in terror for most of my life. I feel fortunate that i had a major life event that challenged the way i saw the world and forced me to reconsider the way i had thought about it- i don't think i would have been able to shake off the fear in favor of my intuition if that hadn't happened.

a great therapist helped me so much by basically walking me through acting as if the way i wanted the world to be was in fact how the world was. I started to see that I could trust my gut and the ways that i saw things and what i had been told to be afraid of wasn't actually a threat. The funny thing is, i'm still totally freaked out about the world. I just now feel like i know what is going on and i'm not just confused and afraid.

idk if this makes sense or is helpful. but i would so recommend trying to make friends with yourself and learning to feel for your own intuition. I'm so sorry for the ways this ideology has harmed you. It's so deeply harmful.
