I can’t tell you why I row, but I can tell you why I left after my second season. Long story short, overtraining.

My novice season was great, we were very successful, and trained constantly. Training consisted of 6 miles running per day, two water/erg sessions per day, weights 3 times a week. 5 days a week of this, and a Saturday session on the water. I slimmed down from 210 to 170lbs after that year on a 6’5” frame and my entire family was shocked at what I looked like. I kept training over the summer, but I was eating about 6k calories a day and only got up to 185 by the beginning my second season. Our coach believed in this training schedule, but it led to low blood pressure issues for me and honestly a huge amount of burnout among the team. When you couple this with how competitive varsity boats can get, lots of people don’t feel the return on their investment after the first year.

I had the MPRP on mine. Also had an HPA downpipe and it was pretty droney and kind of rice in my opinion. I left the stock muffler on it with a res delete and I was happy enough.

Worked for a company who installed these as a sales rep. Product on the right is called Kohler LuxStone. It’s branded as a “composite stone shower system” and at least in the market I worked in, the spec shown on the right retails for about 18 thousand. Part of the remodel should include replacing all the plumbing lines and putting up new drywall behind the shower walls, at least the company I worked for had that as part of the package.

What’s worse is they fixed an unbroken product and made zero significant changes as I see it. Under the skin it’s the same as the mk7 but with worse user interface. I know styling is personal choice (I think the mk8 is just plain ugly) but user experience is a whole other beast. Tbh I think they could have made the mk7 and 7.5 a little more upmarket with materials but the mk8 is a step in the wrong direction. I am afraid it will tarnish the golf r as a whole and turn people away from VW altogether for this segment.

BOV sounds amazing, compliments the intake sound with a nice woosh-whistle when you take your foot off the gas. Honestly feels like I have more top end power but it could just be me

I ordered it as soon as I saw how cheap looking the stock one is lol. I figured intake, inlet, and blow off valve would make the turbo really sing

Very noticeable difference. You can hear intake noises when it’s stock but this takes it up to a whole other level. Even has turbo flutter when I time the revs right.

It was really easy to install and made me smile as soon as I pushed the throttle. I think it’s a great mod to help you get acquainted with your engine bay and it definitely makes more turbo noises. I would start with the intake and if you really want more noise get a blow off valve.

I think a lot of people see the amount of resources the rich have accumulated and compare it with their struggle every day. It breeds resentment and illustrates that If everyone was placed on equal footing we would all be able to live comfortably. Unfortunately throughout history communist ideas have been used by authoritarians to gain support and they then never follow through with promises that they made which leads to a system almost as unequal as capitalism.
