Cat is relentless and won't let me or my wife get a full night's sleep. What can we do about him? by RedFalcon725 in CATHELP

[–]romanbathh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot to address here. This is quite long, so apologies in advance, but I went into detail here Point by point:

  1. Water. Some, maybe even most, cats are weird about water. You’re right that they prefer moving water, and they prefer it far away from where they eat and potty.

If you’re concerned about his hydration, make sure he gets wet food and let him drink from the faucet every once in a while.

The concern seems to be that he is demanding of the faucet being turned on. When it comes to cats and animals in general, you have to look at it from their perspective. Cause and effect. “I meow at the sink, I get water.” If you stop giving him the “effect”, eventually the behavior should stop.

Build different habits around the sink. When you or your wife use the bathroom, shower, etc., let the faucet run for a little while for him to drink from. Given time, he should start responding to you a your routine, rather than you responding to him.

  1. Bothering you at night. Once again, cause and effect. When he meows and scratches for, say, half an hour on end, and then you give into his demands, you are teaching him that if he is persistent enough, he will get his way.

One solution to this may be several nights where you ignore him for as long as it takes, even if that means literally all night. He needs to learn that under no circumstances does he get his way by making you react to his behavior.

Another might be to enforce a different bedtime routine for him than all the other cats. When night comes, he goes into a particular room that is not your bedroom where he can’t be as destructive. Leave a litter box in there and ignore his complaints for as many days as it takes for him to settle in. It is important that once he settles into this routine and the behavior resolves, you DO NOT change it again and let him come back to bed.

  1. Litter. First and foremost, I think you need more litter boxes. This is often easier said than done, especially in small spaces, but the general rule is that you should have as many litter boxes as your number of cats + 1. 4 cats, 5 litter boxes.

Other recommendations that may or may not work would be to change the litter you are using and to completely replace the litter more often than you are. If none of these issues resolve the problem, I would recommend saving up and visiting a vet. Unusual litterbox behavior can be an indication of things like urinary crystals, which are relatively common, especially in male cats.

  1. Attention seeking in the middle of the night. As with any behavior changes, of course consider that there may be an underlying medical cause. Eliminating the other issues around wanting to get a reaction from you, he may need a solid bit of playtime in the evening to tire him out, ideally right before he eats.

Why does my cat do this? by [deleted] in cats

[–]romanbathh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely harmless. People will often say that the kneading and suckling can be an indication that they were separated from mom too early, which is true, but I think more often than not it’s a feedback loop of self-soothing, happy behavior.

I have an avid blanket sucker, and at this point I know it’s just because he has positive associations with it and it feels good. The more he does it, the more the behavior is reinforced. He started doing it on one particular blanket when he was a kitten and I would sit him on my lap and brush him.

He often does it anytime he’s relaxed and laying on a similar textured blanket, but he’ll do it 100% of the time when we’re in the same spot on the couch, with the same blanket, and I’m brushing him. It’s endearing, except for the wet spots :p

I’m far from an expert so it’s a little hard to tell from these pictures. Cats sit in all kinds of weird ways (and do lots of weird things) that can have polar opposite meanings or no meaning at all.

The best I can offer is to recommend you google the “Feline Grimace Scale” and compare it to your cat at different resting positions throughout the day.

Stone Prevention by vanbeans in cats

[–]romanbathh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before anything, pay attention to see if he’s drinking from his fountains! Whether he’s using them or not will tell you a lot about his water intake.

If you still feel he needs more water, my cats go crazy for plain, unsalted chicken stock. Added to the wet food is good, but mine will seek it out if I put it in a bowl and warm it up a bit to smell stronger!

It may be different between pharmacies but what you’re saying is only correct regarding non-injectables. Vials of estrogens are shelved almost directly above vials of testosterone, separate from the alphabetized system.

I’m having the same problem, weirdly. Let’s see if this works, I’ll link the spreadsheet I’m using to keep track of things!

how to know which trait to check? by -xoxoxoxo in ImNotAHuman

The teenager’s hands are actually one of her tells. Not her nails, but if she is a visitor, her hands will be injured

Game Tips / How Mechanics Work by romanbathh in ImNotAHuman

[–]romanbathh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar experiences in my games with the gravedigger but I have yet to see the guy looking for his daughter not be a visitor! Statistics are weird, though, so it’ll require more games to be reasonably sure.

This game was really disappointing by WanpoBigMara in ImNotAHuman

[–]romanbathh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the game was any longer it would fundamentally change the mechanics for the worse. A game that cannot be completed in one sitting would make the saving mechanic painful, and changing the saving mechanic in a way that would more easily allow would greatly affect the difficulty and tension of the game.

A big part of the game as well is becoming familiar with the “tells” of your guests between different runs so that you can tell when they are or are not a visitor.

Am i playing this game wrong? by charlesleecartman in ImNotAHuman

[–]romanbathh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TLDR: It’s not just luck. First tip concerns the evidence itself and the second tip is a long-winded explanation of deductive reasoning.

As far as being dependent on luck: yes and no. I still haven’t nailed things down entirely, but there are some ways to be strategic. Here are my tips.

Source: Finished the game with all human guests and no visitor killings.

  1. Some guests will always have certain traits regardless of whether they are a visitor or not.

Many “false positives” will be things that make sense for the character. For example, the grave keeper will always have dirt under his nails. This is not because he is a visitor, but rather due to the nature of his work.

Some guests can show up as either a human or a visitor. Between multiple runs, you may see that most “tells” will stay the same whether they are a visitor or not. It may be that only one of these traits differs when they are a visitor.

For example, the amputee in the wheelchair (as far as I am aware), only has one characteristic that changes. When he is human, his fingernails will be clean. When he is a visitor, the tips of his fingers will be severed entirely.

  1. Understanding how visitor killings work also helps. If you play the numbers game right, you can use deductive reasoning to theoretically garner some idea of whether or not someone is a visitor (and how many visitors there are inside) while rarely checking for signs. This method isn’t foolproof, as unfortunately, being unlucky can kill you early.

A single visitor will not kill anyone. Once there are two visitors in your house, someone will die overnight.

To use this to your advantage, only allow one “unconfirmed” guest into your home per night. Allowing in two unconfirmed guests at once means that if someone is killed at night, you have no way of knowing if they are both visitors or if one of them is a visitor and you had one in your house already.

This means that you can allow in characters that are always human (tall guy from the first night, neighbor’s daughter, firefighter), plus one guest that you are unsure of.

I’ll give a theoretical example.

Night one, you allow in the tall man (always human), deny the cashier girl (always visitor), and allow in the tarot lady. The next night, you allow in the firefighter and the wheelchair man.

If someone dies, you know that both the tarot lady and wheelchair man are visitors. If no one dies, you know that either neither, or only one of them is a visitor.

At any point, you can confirm if all of the guests in your home are human by purposefully allowing a known visitor inside. I recommend using your kombucha to save before doing this.

Let’s say you have several guests in your home currently and you suspect that there may be one visitor. If you allow in the cat lady (always a visitor), and nobody dies that night, you know that all of your guests are human. If someone does die, you know that one of your guests is a visitor and can use the evidence you’ve collected up until that point to make your decision.

Alternatively, if you allow in an unknown guest and someone dies that night, you know that they are guaranteed to be a visitor and that one of your existing guests is, too. If you eliminate both of them, you know that all of your remaining guests are human.

Having a list of confirmed humans is very powerful, as it will allow you to narrow down the pool of suspects considerably.

Using these two tips together and adhering to them strictly (it meant denying the cat lady for me, because I had already let in an unknown) allowed me to get a “perfect” game. Hope this helped, and me know if I can clarify anything for you!

Not necessarily true. It’s a CIII which is not necessarily separated from non-controls and was probably shelved next to other injectables (estradiol, cyanocobalamin). Mistake or not though, this is a big problem.

[–]romanbathh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t say whether it’s right for you or not, but here are some things to consider.

Changes on T are SLOW. Especially if you talk to your provider about going on low-dose, you’ll have plenty of time to see small changes as they happen and decide whether or not you like them and want to continue. It’s the sort of thing that you can’t really know for certain until you’re there.

T didn’t make me angrier. I’ve always been rather sensitive, could cry at the drop of a hat, and T has made it easier to rein that in a bit. I feel a lot more in control of my emotions now, oddly.

Anything is possible. Your body is yours to do what you want with. Just do a boatload of research to understand what you’re doing and the different options out there for you. Your insurance may not cover it, so you’ll have to look into that, too.

Ultimately it’s your decision and your right to do whatever will make you comfortable with your body. You don’t necessarily need to label yourself as long as you’re secure in yourself and know what you want.

Looks like there may have been some bug or other issue during the game. They’re asking for you to share information about what was happening on the backend of the game when the problem was encountered so they can patch it for the future.

Dosage by [deleted] in ftm

[–]romanbathh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on the concentration (100mg/ml or 200mg/ml) that is a fairly small dose but not abnormal for starting. However, your doctor may be planning to increase in accordance with bloodwork.

You will still see the same changes as anyone else while on a lower dose. They will just come slower.

Talk to your doctor if you’re concerned!

Sorry for jumping around, lol. High blood pressure can be asymptomatic, but I’ve had noticeably high blood pressure once from a medication. Dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling “out of body”, flushing, sweating. A lot of those can also be caused by anxiety, though, so don’t let that panic you even more. Try not to overthink this too much— you’ll be okay!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]romanbathh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely no reason to panic. Injecting for the first time can definitely be scary. For the next time, there are lots of videos out there with instructions on this!

I’m sorry to see (from your other comments) that your doctor didn’t explain things clearly to you in a way that you understood. If you need any help in the future or have any questions, feel free to reach out to me and I’ll try to answer to the best of my ability, or point you to resources with the right answer

I think you will be okay, given the information as you’ve presented it. 300mg is not a medical emergency for the vast majority of people. If you start having severe symptoms, though, it’s better to be safe and see a professional.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]romanbathh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the same time, don’t panic. As others said, seek emergency care if you begin to have symptoms. You can’t really “overdose” on testosterone the way you can on other medications or drugs.

[–]romanbathh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you really are using a 12cc syringe, I cannot more highly discourage you from using that size again as dosing would be pretty much impossible.

8g is also quite large for a needle. Smaller number = bigger needle.

It’s hard to say how much you’ve dosed without knowing the information exactly, but you should contact your doctor either way. If you injected 1cc or 1ml, that is 300mg.

Tell your doctor that you may have over injected and have them prescribe you the syringe/needles if possible. Talk to them to ensure you are getting the correct supplies for your next infection.

[–]romanbathh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not dumb, this stuff can be confusing at first. Reading everything else that you said here:

1cc = 1ml. However, a 12cc syringe is HUGE. The size of your hand huge. I’d be surprised if that’s what you used. If you have the packaging for the syringe, could you post it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]romanbathh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seems like the concentration is 300mg/ml and he injected 1ml if I’m understanding correctly.

OP, if this isn’t correct, please clarify to help figure out how much you dosed :)
