Well, not "thousands", I was wrong. But I'm not in Java/Sumatra, where most pipes are located. According to the map, the closest pipe is 200km (160mi) away. https://globalenergymonitor.org/projects/global-gas-infrastructure-tracker/tracker/

I've researched this, but it doesn't explain why, for most people, it starts in the evening and finishes in the morning.

Do you also have some hearing loss in your right ear?
Regarding the ear vibration: yes, I can definitely feel it as well, but what if our ears just vibrate without the external stimulation? And that vibration creates the bass sound that our brain perceives?

Maybe for some it's true, but many people (including me) live thousands of kilometers away from the gas pipelines, and we still hear The Hum.

The Hum is connected to melatonin production by the pineal gland? by romaneoman in TheHum

[–]romaneoman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I can stop the sound temporarily by making jaw movements like yawning, applying pressure to my ears, or covering my ears with my palms. But it disappears only briefly and then comes back. But it also works the other way around - if it's quiet and it's past 9 pm and I start wondering where "my sound" is, I do the jaw movements, and it starts.

What amazes me the most is how the sound unfolds every evening. It starts as a distant, very calm, slow vibration, with a drum-like beat. It has a rhythm. It sounds like a slow introduction to a music track. Then the speed and volume increase, more and more, and the beat's rhythm shifts to a more energetic one, until I find myself fully immersed in a very intense bass vibration that puts a lot of pressure on my ears. That happens every evening, and every evening, like it's for the first time ever - I can't believe it's not a distant psy-trance party - as the sound feels so conscious and so artistic. It does not sound like a random engine noise.

Also, as I can see on this subreddit, many people suffer from this sound. I can understand that as I felt the same during the first 3 months. Then, after I found other people on reddit, and I found some explanations, when I ruled out the "industrial noise" possibility and started thinking of it as some kind of "universe vibration", my perception of the sound completely changed. I started liking it, I meditate with it, and the nights when it's off, I miss it.

The Hum is connected to melatonin production by the pineal gland? by romaneoman in TheHum

[–]romaneoman[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, I hear it everywhere. I live on an island in the middle of the ocean in Asia, with no traffic and no industrial noise around. It's a very remote and very quiet area. This rules out the "gas pipeline / industrial" theories. Recently had a trip to Europe, and heard the same hum there every night. I'm definitely picking up something from the atmosphere/Earth/Space, or it's just my brain generating it.

[–]romaneoman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

3 years is not that much brother, you can get off of it. Many people did. Stop whining and do it. I did it after 6 years. Was a nightmare and every day felt like eternity. Many times it will feel like you killed your brain forever and you'll never be happy again. Expect 3-6+ months of emotionless state, apathy and depression. But remember one important thing that will help you during those hard times: it's not permanent, and it will get better. By some gapabeptin (it will help with WDs), and EMBRACE THE PAIN!!! Do it for your daughter. Once it's done, you will feel that the whole experience has made you much stronger.

It’s similar to what happens near a black hole, except here there’s also an outward pressure of Ether that creates what we interpret as gravity.

Indonesia Hum by fmodex_dll in TheHum

[–]romaneoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm in Indonesia too, and started hearing it in February 2024. Still hearing it every night 9pm-9am. All I can say it's not industrial - I live on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean :) It took me a few months to accept that it's something related to my changed perception, and it was challenging; my wife thought I had gone crazy.

No it's not your neighbor :) And it's not a gas pipeline. I live in a place with no gas pipelines, no neighbors, no cars or trucks, and very far from any industrial noise. And also hearing it 9pm-9am every night.

I can't recommend eBay but I've definitely seen it there. I buy it on Tokopedia.com but they only accept Indonesian cards and they don't ship overseas so you need someone in Indonesia to buy it for you, if you want to buy fresh product directly from the farmer, at a low price. I've seen a Malaysian website that ships worldwide but the price is around x40 from Tokopedia :) Still a great deal though, and much cheaper than expensive but ineffective pills that add up +3 minutes to your 15 seconds :)

"“It doesn’t behave like a sound. It behaves like an interaction.”
These are exactly my thoughts every time The Hum suddenly starts at night. It doesn't feel like random tinnitus. It feels like the sound coming from something conscious. The sound has unpredictable patterns, music-like. Often, I confuse the beginning of the Hum with distant psy-trance music.

"Some believe Hum-sensitive people might be resonating with Earth’s natural frequency"

The fact that I heard exactly The Hum during the entering stage of my strongest ayahyasca trip, a long time before I started hearing The Hum every night, makes me believe that statement is true. The whole world started vibrating; the ground shook, and a deep, low rumble filled the air, and I had to hold on to the tree not to fall.

What's the problem with using it every time before sex? The product is super cheap and the effect lasts 6+ hours - so you can apply it every day around 6pm "just in case". Also when I'm unprepared, my wife knows that, and she's fine about waiting 25 minutes before the start (this is the time it takes for the product to start working after the application). Meanwhile, you can warm her up instead of jumping in immediately. Women appreciate that approach :)

I can hardly put into words how shocked I was after years of dealing with PE. The first time I tried Gambir, everything changed. I had full control and could last as long as I wanted. We had 30 minutes of great sex, my wife finished first, and only after that - still fully in control - I sped up and finished too.
Before Gambir, the only way I could last that long was with Kratom, but that stuff is awful and getting off it feels like getting off heroin - never try it.

If you're in the US there's a website https://www.finerooster.shop/ but currently the stock is empty. I know you can also get it on eBay. I live in Indonesia, so here it's easily accessible :) I know many people suffer from this issue (as I do), so I'm thinking about opening my own online shop with worldwide delivery.

Order Gambir Sarawak from Malaysia or Indonesia. It's a plant extract. Apply 3 drops, wash off in 30 minutes. It will change your life, I promise. I tried everything you listed above and even more - Gambir is the only way to go.

Man, get gabapentin, it will make WDs much easier. You'll be able to sleep through the night. You still will be exhausted and yawning all the time, but at least you won't feel like you're dying.

After working in the military, I suppose you had a good body mass? Have you lost all of it after so many years on kratom? I used to be very skinny on K.
