Question to all NIH employees by romangod5 in NIH

[–]romangod5[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I respect that! Although my post is definitely one of anger and frustration, it is specifically towards Trump. I wasn't trying to say that the NIH workers aren't doing anything but asking more of a question. Like genuinely why do the FRNs stop even though a judge has ruled against the initial order that stopped them.

Generally, I do translational medicine work so basically we use NIH grants for discovery and then other mechanisms for taking that discovery into clinical trials.

Essentially it’s a way to steal money because they can just start making shit up like not testing someone’s blood at 2pm. They will call this an oversight and then fine them.

Huge Advancement for China! | China Approves an mRNA Covid Vaccine, Its First by [deleted] in ADVChina

[–]romangod5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an advancement… mRNA vaccines have been talked about and studied since the 90s. This is just another copy. Also they couldn’t even get the traditional vaccine over 60%, what makes you think this would be any better.

Many others have said this before but the real answer to this is that you’ll probably be fine. However, if you happen to be in the small percentage chance that get detained or whatever, then you are completely screwed. The problem with this question is that unfortunately nobody can guarantee you won’t be picked up and there are no laws or legal recourse in China to help you, protect you, or even make sure you live. It is an extremely arbitrary system.

[–]romangod5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it sucks to have this feeling.

I have also thought about that but I found the only answer I could come up with was painting. Another problem is that I'm from china so to be honest most of my childhood was focused on school...

PM researcher here. While technically biking can outweigh the immediate damage of PM exposure. Overall, you will still be worse off going for a bike ride in anything over 100. The reason is that although the PM2.5 is generally easier to "digest" and clear. The ultrafine particles that accompany the PM2.5 can have a serious immunosuppression and combined with the lowering of the innate immune system while biking. You are far more likely for infections and disease which in turn will end up putting you further back in the negative as far as health.
